separated the 6L80/Engine.
pulled the pan and the 6L80 looks to be in good shape nothing unusually in the pan. the magnet was almost clean.
i'll install new input and output seal, along with a new filter and torque convertor.

Pulled the engine apart and everything looked good on the heads, only had 2 broken exhaust bolts to deal with. The cam bearings had some wear (normal from what i have read) and the cylinder walls had a few little hot spots you might say . looks like it might have had a couple long periods between oil changes. i think it will hone out without much fuss. all the bearing in the bottom end looked excellent. pistons has a little "varnish" on the ring ledges. I figured i'm in it this far lets go ahead and freshen it up. dropped it off at eh machine shop they said they were 2+ months backlogged but, might get to it a little quicker since they aren't having to put it back together. so back in pause mode.

only grabbed a couple pictures, as I was in a hurry to get it to the machine shop. got there 2 minutes before they closed.

Everything was cleaned and still in standard range,. Except one rocker. That was about to let go.

I already had a trunion bearing upgrade so we should be good once the bearings and rings arrive.

The long wait was if they put it together

Modifying the skid plate to move the engine forward about 1.5 inches. Need to make some spacers and add filler stock for the offset plate and drill/slot some holes

Made some progress today. also ordered new body mount bushings, and some lizard skin products. going to lay down some sound deadening, then heat control, then cover it with some raptor liner as a top coat on the underside.

Been busy with life, just now getting back dipity. Put some RCVs in the front axle, got the engine/6l80/t-case installed. did some sanding on The firewall/ underside and started on the sunroof delete.

Life gets in the way..... you're miles ahead of my swap. Need to hunt down a newer 10 speed to replace the 8 speed with to even start on the wiring. Hell the 80 is currently leashed to a tree.

Not to hijack Eric's thread here, but 10 speed? What's wrong with the 8sp (6L80e I assume?) you have already?

Looking good @fourtrax

Looking great!

Is your sunroof delete a flat plate, or did you have something curved to match the angle of the roof?

I'm preparing to do the same!

i just tacked some tabs on the edge of a flat panel that i cut a little smaller then the opening. Starting at the center, just sort of spiraled out pushing the tabs flush as I tacked it in place. The roof is mostly flat where the sunroof is.
