UPDATED 9-19

If you're going on this ride LET ME KNOW and post up your attendance. You will get additional location information OFFLINE from there. This is the only way you will find us once we get to the campsite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

September 23-25th
leaving exact locations off the internet for obvious reasons. We've never been to this location but from what I know it looks very enticing, details will be discussed off-line via PM or email or at the meetings. For the record: the area is public and perfectly legal but I'm not giving away info to the world. To the rest of the public viewers, either pay your dues to find out where this is or bite me:flipoff2:.

This will be a 2-nighter due to the distance and the lack of nearby towns. Must be fully prepared to live off the grid, this means bring water, food, shelter and of course .

Atlanta Folks Meeting location:
I-75 and Hwy 140 (Exit 306) @ 11:00 am Friday, we'll caravan from there. There's a Hardees on the left with a large parking area directly behind. this would be a good spot to meet & gas up necessary

Google Maps

Archie and couple other Florida guys will be at Choccolocco Sept. 17-18th and want to tag along

Confirmed Atendees
Tkinze

We dont have Auburn football tickets either one of those weekends, so either one is good for me and Miranda. But if I have to pick one I would say 23-25 (potential to be cooler weather)

This looks like fun. I am in provided I finish my brakes. So far, go the master cyl rebuilt.

No Milton football 9/23. I might make this.

Ted, am I an official member yet? I mean I did pay dues but the club never voted me in. If so, can ya PM me the info so I can see if its something I'd be able to get to reasonably? If yes to both of those, I'll vote on a date at that time.

Yes Steve, you're in. This is the place Josh, you and me were discussing esarlier this year.

Roger. I think I know where you mean. I looked up the distance you said and it matched up to a place I've been alluding to for a while now. I'll check those dates and cast a vote. Although both are currently open for me and I'd love the chance to wheel with the club again so I'm likely in either way.

Hmmm - don't know if it matters to anyone, but the 9-11 is the weekend after the SE Takeover in Tracy City and the 23-25 is the weekend before Dixie Run at Golden Mtn. Just FYI in case anyone needs to plan around those times (like I was hoping to need to).

Is there a way to change my vote to the other weekend? I don't want to change it, and I know it'll likely still happen the latter weekend due to votes, but I will have to juggle some work scheduling to make that weekend now.

Also, when is the final call going to be made? I need to wait and know for sure when the dates will be so I can begin trying to work out said "juggling".

I actually need to change my vote to the earlier weekend too. I have a buddy coming intown the 2nd weekend so I won't be able to make it now

Ted, what's the latest? Don't see any more votes or activity on this thread so are you able to change our two votes in the poll?

unless something drastic happens dates are pretty much set at Sept 23-25 I think. everyone around here is just sick of the heat and doesn't have any desire to sleep in a hot tent.

I understand. I'll start working on getting the weekend off and hope for the best.

Josh, what turned out to be the issue with the steering?

Power steering pump. I think we killed it running it dry after the roll.

Information
This will be a 2-nighter due to the 140 mile one way trip and the lack of nearby towns. Must be fully prepared to live off the grid, this means bring water, food, shelter and of course .
Just FYI, this place isn't THAT far off the grid. When I was there last, we took about three trucks into "town" to get "supplies" one night (). They were Heeps on aired-down 35's and made the journey fine. The bigger problem was finding somewhere open in the small town. So as long as we make a run before later in the evening, supplies can be attained.

Archie and couple other Florida guys will be at Choccolocco Sept. 17-18th and want to tag along with us so we need to decide which weekend soon.
Whadya hear from these guys? Have you told them the dates yet and are they still planning on tagging along?

my master cylinder is rebuilt and brakes seem to be working, so I will be there.

Anybody going to have Friday off and want to do some extra wheeling? I'm going to try to hit another spot on my way over Friday if I end up being able to take off. It'll be in a little town called Gurley Alabama.

This is getting close, has anyone firmed up their plans for Friday. the hope is to get out of town as early Friday as possible

Well I know you basically already know Ted but so it's posted as a reminder: I hope to be on the road NLT 1000 Friday. Turns out it's a bit further than I'd thought, ~300 miles for me. So that'll put me there at 1600 at the earliest with the reality being more like 1800-1900 with food, fuel and slow driving.

Whenever y'all decide where you're camping at, please make sure I can find you somehow. In other words, call, text or email me where you are or even coordinates might work if I have data signal. I guess make sure I have your CB channel too so I can page you locally when I roll in.

Good times ahead! :bounce:

first post updated. since it sounds like you'll be there later on Friday I'll shoot you the GPS coordinates of the campsite we intend to be at. Don't know about cell coverage if you get lost though.
