I made this several weeks ago. It is also from the pig party 2017. It is kinda long though.

That's the stuff I am using also. I did the driver's door with scrap pieces from when I did the floor in the back. It already rides and drives like a Lexus, it might as well sound like a Lexus. (Yeah right).

While rebuilding my driver's door latch I found that the torsion spring that holds up the lock rod was missing. Sometimes when I would close the door it would lock itself. McMaster-Carr has a good replacement. Part number is 9271K912.

I looked up that spring and have a question on how you dealt with the width of the spring. Carr's spring seems to be quite a bit wider than stock.

The picture on the website is not the spring you are receiving. The width is roughly the same as the old one. I removed the one from my passenger front door to measure it and make sure. I didn't take any pictures or video. But I haven't put the door panel on yet since I am waiting on some window felts to come in so I probably can snap a picture if it will help. Also, the spring comes in a package of 6.

So, your's isn't the ten coil wide one, good to know.

No, left hand wrap twice. I did have to shim up the arm in the latch also. That is most likely how I lost the spring in the first place.

Here is a picture of the new door lock rod torsion spring (the shiny on on the left):

I only have one more thing to do to the driver's door and I can put it back together and start on the next door. I installed new wiper felts and put the plastic back on. I also installed a new female seat belt buckle so I can be securely strapped to the wreckage. Mine has a broken spring in it. Thanks to Deo for that buckle!

I have been trying for awhile to find a secure place to store the things that stay in the cruiser. I made this rack designed to hold molle type bags.
