This pic worked out in the parking garage nicely today.

It's amazing how neutered a stock one looks next to one with some mods.

Yup and mine has custom kick-out steps too 😂
And ultimately I’m just glad I came after and left before the other owner 🤷🏻‍♂️
And I'm glad you parked like a normal human instead of the unreasonably bad parking job by the white GX

While teaching my daughter to drive (a '89 Toy pickup with manual tranny no less!) when she was 15, I don't know how many times I'm impressed on her to park correctly, even if you have to pull in-n-out several times, PARK STRAIGHT and CENTERED! Primarily for the soul purpose you're not so likely to give nor get door dings or worse, have someone park so close to your drivers door you can't get in your car.
Had that happen to me at work once a long time ago and couldn't open my door enough to get in. Boy, did she get an ear full AND had her move her car.

If they wouldn’t have parked so poorly then I couldn’t have gotten such a good pic for comparing! Not a very good parking job. They must have been late for something 🤔
I had a tundra before so this little thing is easy to whip into a tight spot.

Did a thing and got a new iPhone this week. Went from the 10xs to 15pro due to old phone not charging reliably anymore (wired or wireless). Conveniently iPhone now has the chargey magnet back and the new case supports this as well. This little phone mount gadget seems very well made and designed for such a simple thing.
With all my considerations of trading/selling the truck in a year and a half or so I went with a simple non-permanent solution. Also safer/more convenient than trying to look down in the cupholder for the gps. Unsurprisingly I don’t use my GX gps 🙄, though it has helped me out in The backcountry when I didn’t have a map loaded on a couple of occasions. Will update with my first use impressions of the vent phone mount with built in charger.

Yup, first commute with the MagSafe setup for the vent and I’m in love so far! So much better than the phone in the cupholder. It’s not pretty or overlandish but it sure seems like it’s gonna get the job done.

Can it hold the phone over bumps? Or does it slide down or off?
I assume it's too soon to find out, but if you get a chance to take it on any bumpy washboard roads/trails, let us know how well it holds.

Depends on what type of case you are running. If you have a leather or silicone case, it aint going no where. If you run a hard or slick case, it won't hold very well over bumps.

In my experience the case having added magnets is what allows it to hold. The phone without a case would fall very easily.

It seems firmly planted on the magnet from the limited use. Self centers and doesn’t move. I will update if it falls off at some point. For reference have a speck grip case with the iPhone compatible magsafe magnets built into the back.

Made sure to hit all the bumps and railroad tracks at speed on the way home from work lol. Still holding strong.

Forgot to ask, but I assume it doesn't have inductive charging (wireless).

Yes wireless charging is built in.
Okay, now you may have me wanting to get one when I have to replace my current wireless charging holder.

View attachment 3485113Little one got a new pack, big girl got some sweet new hiking shoes and we hit the trail at our local state park. What a beautiful November day.
Is that first picture a product of just how smooth and quiet the ride of you GX is?
