Make sure to set the B screw with the suspension at sag height like SRAM says. It makes a significant difference. Also check the hanger alignment before mounting the derailleur. With 12 speeds the tolerances are narrow.

Interesting I will give checking it at sag a shot. I guess someone has to adjust it while I sit on it? Hmm. It’s currently shifting great I just know it’s about time and I want it to be new smooth for a camping/riding trip I have coming up. I have replaced almost everything from my 2020 base build so far. Suspension, cranks, and brakes only thing left. They’re working and serviceable so not finding the need to change anything there at this time. No NX drivetrain left after this round of replacements.

I will probably just leave as is and adjust for shifting performance after riding.
On another note… they are paving my main outlet road and long story short the traffic safety guys on this project were all hanging out while I accidentally drove through fresh tar! 😡
They started waving their arms whilst I was slinging tar everywhere. Didn’t have time to do a proper clean due to daughter’s soccer game. The tires have dried on gunk and are riding weird now. Should I make a claim with the state? Ugh
Tried cleaning them today. I just don’t really have time to spray with degreaser and scrub do I?!?! Is this gonna be ok? Talk me down 😤
My partner has also lost a windshield on her new CR-V on this project.

Only thing that will touch this tar! Glad I found something that is working. ThanksYouTube 😂

Not happy with my tar removal. I just ordered some new tires. Going to submit a claim with construction company. I opted to downsize and go to p rated. Went p265/70r17 Continental terrain contact AT. Will keep y’all updated on the performance of these and the claim.
I JUST had my truck aligned when I got the new UCA. Should I be good or would you get it done again with the new tires?
I’ve honestly been wanting to try smaller lighter less aggressive treads for a while with my lack of off roading.

I only get alignments yearly (no suspension changes) or when I change something in the suspension. So you shoudl be good.

You'll love P-rated 32's for daily driving. Light, quiet, quick acceleration, etc. I even off-road in mine and honestly they are fine. I'll be keeping P's when I upgrade to 33's due to how well they perform.

I appreciate the vote of confidence. I just don’t off-road frequently. It’s not highly accessible from my home and you have to drive an hour or so just to hit dirt/gravel. Can’t wait to feel that acceleration with the 40# almost factory tire 💨
I also can’t wait to hit that first rough stretch of tarmac with a softer tire.
It is gonna look like my rig skipped leg day 🤷🏻‍♂️

Apparently I over reacted to the impact and amount of the tar 😅
Discount tire reassured me that the tread of the tires looked good. I left the decision to how well they would balance and they balanced right up. With 10/32 left in the tread these should last another year or two! They currently have 32k miles on them… well at least 3 of them. The one I replaced has 13/32 tread depth.

So you are keeping your Toyo tires? If you are just itching to get out of a chunky AT, I am currently running the Michelin Defender LTX M/S and have been super satisfied. I have even wheeled them and they did great.

Im keeping the Toyo.
I’m kinda itching to get out of the chunky AT right now. But since they’re considered good with a lot of tread left I’m gonna wait at least another year to pull the trigger and change. Been on the defender ltx before and was highly satisfied it’s a gold standard. I see there’s a defender ltx 2 coming very soon and I will be watching for reviews! I was just leaning towards the current Conti crop of tires based on reviews with braking distance and lateral traction especially in the wet.
Also maybe I’ll go wheeling between now and then or survive a deep snow storm (for SC means over 2”) and want to keep the chunky tread. Just today I found myself browsing the Falken AT3W in an SL.

The Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws are a good choice. 46# in SL 265/70R17's, good on pavement, good towing, good off road when aired down. I'd highly recommend them unless you'll be doing next to no wheeling.

Yup I had the Falkens on my tundra in e load. They were seemingly unstoppable, despite being a bit hefty.

Nice little drive around DuPont State Forest. Hike up Stone Mountain is a solid workout, but rewarding.

In other news I’ve had the truck bug for over 6 months now. Watching new Taco. Will see might have to wait until the baby girl is front facing before making the move due to compact rear seat dimensions.

Here’s my front end noise. Any ideas?

Also had some unsettling noise from rear suspension but it’s rarer. Like maybe the atrac thinks it needs to cut on clunk? It seems to happen when my passenger rear tire is at full droop.

Maybe rear is sway bar link? Literally next video that popped up for me after posting vid. That seems like a solid possibility.

FWIW I have replaced the upper control arm recently with consistent sound up front so we know front is not UCA ball joint.

Otherwise truck ran great and articulated through some pretty solid undulations. This thing maintains traction but when it doesn’t atrac jumps in and fixes everything almost immediately.

Try adjusting your hood cushions and lubing your hood latch.

Ok, I’d adjusted the cushions up a bit and lubed the latch. Thanks will report back.

There’s still the squeak in the front end. Hood seems pretty firm against cushions at this point.
