Ah, so over a few beers at LR I'll want to have some vets school me in the ways of R/C.

Thanks.

Well, Ava has changed her mind about selling the SCX-10. Nathan may have something to sell. If so, we will bring it.
Well dang. I was looking forward to the SCX10. What else might be available?

I used to run RC - had a Tamaya Hornet (basically a Grasshopper with a 540 instead of a 360)... Had a blast with that thing, was back when you had to build it yourself from scratch. Gearbox and everything..

Bought my son a Traxxas Stampede XL5 2WD setup... That thing is ridiculously fast, and RTR... I'd like to run RC again at some point - maybe if I ever get my 80 back, I'll build a 1:10 replica..

1:10 .... so only 4 inches of lift. :D

Clearly a science teacher not a maths teacher.... ;)

Nathan mentioned selling his AX-10 Scorpion. We have two other bodies for this one.

Again, this is a kid talking so don't get your hopes up. My kids are dazzled by the thought of money in their pockets but the hoarder gene runs deep. They tend to be collectors and not so much sellers. I'm not going to push them to sell their stuff for fear that they will have sellers remorse and I'll have to fork over the $ to replace their long lost toys. We'll see. Like I said, if we have anything for sale, we'll bring them to LR. Nathan will be bringing an RC either way...probably the Axial Yeti if I had to guess. I'm sure he'd let you give it a spin to see how you like it.

I'm getting ready to list a RC4WD Trailfinder2 for sale. It's much more of a scaler than a crawler. I'll be offering it as A-RTR (you provide 3-channel radio + lipo), or a roller. It is the kit, so has 2-speed transmission; leafs all around; a couple of sets of shocks; 2 bodies (one with lots of rash, one never assembled/new); upgraded helical gears in both diffs; Bowhouse low-profile tranny mount/skid; upgraded steel driveshafts; plenty of extras and spares. Stock tires and steel wheels have never been run. I also flipped things so the steering is on the correct side to match the 79-83 Mini. I actually used Mobil1 grease in diffs, driveshafts, dogbones, tranny and transfer case.

I also have the RC4WD campershell for it. Initially I planned to make the body into a Trekker using the shell.

In A-RTR form, it has a Castle Sidewinder3 waterproof ESC; waterproof RX; Tekin 35T HD motor; Savox waterproof steering servo; Hi-Tec tranny servo.

It's in excellent condition, axle housings are scratched up from rocks.

If interested, pm and I can provide a full inventory, prices, and photos.

Is there an "RC Cars for Dummies" book that will help me decipher what the heck you just wrote above Joe? I'm intrigued but can't imagine taking on another hobby......the wife is not amused with my "bun" collection (nudge, nudge, wink, wink....a nudge is as good as a wink!)

Joe, Will you be at Logan's Run? If so, bring the TF2. I am interested depending on price and condition, of course.

Oh, here's another pic from Nathan's track time on Saturday. I know the thread title is "RC Crawlers" and this isn't exactly crawling but...

I've seen some folks crawl like that.

I remember the Hornet and Grasshopper, I had a Frog by Tamaya and raced Associated RC10. We were evven into drifting and that was in the mid 80s. We raced in the winter in an old roller rink on the wood floors. Finding tires that half gripped was near impossible so we learned how to drift. That was 30 years ago. Raced a nitro car for a little on road too, rear wheel drive in the straights and Torrington bearings on the front end that engaged front wheel drive in the corners. Only raced twice, way too expensive so I sold it off.

Dave, I cannot make LR, I could possibly come down Sunday morning w/ the TF2. I'm thinking $450ish for A-RTR, $325ish as a roller w/ all extras and spares.

@JToobe my friend David wrote the TF2 guide, it's a comprehensive overview of this cool little rc: Team RC4WD's Comprehensive Guide to the TF2 However, it obviously doesn't cover other platforms and every bit of rc configuration.

Jonathan,
I'm thinking about getting rid of my JasonFree manufactured crawler that Garrett has driven more than I have. Comes with bunches of uncharged batteries (that probably need replaced), battery charger, extra wheels, extra parts, storage container, etc. Purchased from Erymer who purchased from Free manufacturing. Maybe, with help, I can get the 4th wheel on, that has been missing a lug nut for about 2 years (even though Mr. Rushing gave me one at the M&G), and borrow a charged battery from Mr. Rushing to see if it will run. I should have called for hamom sooner...

Gracias @alk747triodad. Bring it to LR and we'll check it out. We can use @SeanLX solar charging station.

That's for Brent's continuing education and enjoyment, not formyou, right?

I am seeing us getting back into this real soon. Kids seem super interested which means Dad won't be far behind.
