19 days left! That is 9 days for Randy because he will probably build and sell his white 80 in 10 days.

The button above that Casey added for the important posts seems to be missing from my screen. Can someone please point me to where the schedule for the week is posted? I am looking for the events at camp.

The "highlight post" has disappeared all across the forum Mike. Wasn't my doing.
All scheduled activities are weather pending as usual.
Sunday evening registration starts as soon as we get the tents set up.
Monday - Friday mornings, coffee starts around 7:30 and trail groups find their leaders on the trail boards.
Tuesday evening is group photo.
Wednesday evening is Raffle and Auction for Ouray Mtn Rescue.
Thursday is Trivia Night sponsored by @Cruiser Cult and Adult Beverage tasting by @ElviMcCoy , @DrRock / @bottombracket @nakman will have a limited number of custom glasses as usual.
Thursday will be the third annual Cruise Her lead by @80Lady.
Any of these can change due to weather.
We encourage you all to get out in the community and help them recover from the fires. Eat dinner, hit the shops, soak in the Hot Spring pool.
Don't forget that breakfast will be available from the Hummingbird Cafe at the KOA main office building also.

Please Fuel Up Each Evening so you are ready to go each morning you plan on hitting the trail with a group.

Speaking of trail groups, how does that work? I asked a few weeks ago, and then fires took over the forum as needed.
Is there a sign-up board or list? How do I sign up for a trail group for specific trails?

Speaking of trails I am leading black bear/ Imogene Monday morning . This is not a run for 1st timers .This is down Black bear back up Imogene in a day . We will be moving fast with only a few stops at the cool picture spots. This run is almost full we may have a spot or 2 open check with me Monday morn. . If enough 1st timers want to run Black Bear and no one else is leading it . I'll lead a 1st timers run on Tues where we can go slow and you can enjoy the trail as a 1st timer should .

As my contribution to either the raffle / trivia night prizes I will contribute 4 Classic Land Cruisers Podcast Calendars to add onto something else or as a stand alone. Don't worry though I will have about 25-30 for sale if you absolutely have to have one. I am going to have my personal one for my desk at work that I would like people to stop by and sign as like a "yearbook" for me, although that is optional.

I second that thought and Is there a limit to how many go on any particular trail run, and are there duplicate days where for example is Imogene going to be run a couple of times?

@RocketCityCrzrs is this years "Trail Boss" and will have a plan for trail leaders. On the side of the SAS trailer there will be Trail Boards listing who, what, when and where. Come grab a coffee from @DirtySteve and @dirtykay around 7:30am MST.
Monday we will offer a First Timers Class for those of you a little unfamiliar with your vehicles. We'll cover the basics like 4WD operation, airing down, basic recovery, best practices while traveling in a group, and proper trail etiquette. This will be followed by a fairly easy trail run so you can experience these amazing mountains and see why we do this each year.
Cruise Her will be on Thursday this year, lead by @80Lady. This will be the third year of a fun day for the Ladies to get behind the wheel.

The trails in the San Juan's are public access so not clogging them up with large groups is paramount.
We shoot for a limit of ten vehicles per group Dan. This makes it easier to keep trail progress flowing. Your trail leader will know where the best lunch break spots / photo spots are going to be.

Trail Etiquette:

~Limit your group to 5-10 vehicles. If you catch up with another group, slow down to space yourselves 15-30 mins apart.

~Make sure everyone has a radio that works and is tested before leaving camp, if not, make sure those who don’t are in the middle of the group. The Tail Gunner has to have a radio.

~Practice good radio communication. No foul language. Communicate difficult obstacles, broken down vehicles, etc. Don’t “clog” the channel with trivial stuff, leave the small talk for the campfire.

~ Pull off the road at the trailhead to prepare your vehicle. Don't block access to the trail while staging.(airing down, locking hubs, engaging 4WD, etc.)

~ Always keep the vehicle trailing you in your view. This will keep the Trail Leader from leaving the group behind.

~Stop at intersections so trialing vehicle sees where you turned

~When two vehicles are approaching each other on an incline the vehicle going uphill has the right of way. This is because it is easier to back up if you are going downhill and momentum for the uphill vehicle is continued.

~Always keep an eye out for places to pullover, sometimes you might have the right of way but if you can, safely pull over for the other vehicle.

~Give way to larger groups

~Distance yourself safely from the vehicle in front of you. On steep inclines let the vehicle in front of you crest the hill before you start up. On steep declines let the vehicle in front of you get to the bottom before you start down. Give those with manual transmissions room to get moving. They will roll back on a steep incline while engaging the clutch.

~Drive slowly around blind corners, if necessary, get out and walk to see if any vehicles are coming and/or honk your horn at a blind corner. Some places are very dangerous to back up. Don’t get yourself in a tricky spot.

~Use hand signals to communicate to oncoming traffic how many are behind you in your convoy.

~Pull off the trail when stopping for a break. Don’t stop in the middle of the trail.

~Three attempts and then it’s time to move on, give others a chance at the obstacle if there are others waiting.

~Bathroom break: Boys to the left and Girls to the right.

~Be kind and courteous on the roads and trails as we all represent the Toyota Community. Remember to watch your speed in Ouray and Silverton. Posted 25mph in Ouray and 20mph in Silverton.

~Slow down and yield to motorcyclists, hikers, horses and bicycles. When you encounter a backpacker, you could ask if they need water or if you can take any trash for them.

~Stop to assist. Don’t leave anyone behind.

~Drive on the trails only. Tread lightly and pack out all the trash. Leave the places you visit better than you found them.

~Have fun and enjoy Beautiful Colorado!

Plus what Casey added:

I'll add a few that have cropped up over the years.
Grab a hand full of wrenches and do a "nut and bolt" check on everything you can access.
Check U-bolts and centerpins in your leafs.
U-joints and flange bolts, give em a good shake. Panhard and lower shock bolts check for tightness. Motor and trans mount bolts tight.
You'd be surprised what you may find.
The trails are not extremely difficult but there isn't a lot of buffer zone if things go south.
There will be a very large gathering of competent Cruiser / Toyota experts in camp each day. If you have doubts please ask someone for an extra set of eyes on something in question.
@RustyNailJustin is a sponsor and has a full service shop just up the road in Ridgeway if its something that can't be handled in camp.

I will add some additional info in the spirit of your question…

I would say this is the most organized we’ve been thus far in terms of trail leads and options being set up in advance (thanks Rory). Commonly trail groups develop organically at camp regardless of the trail board. This year, options are already established for folks who want to join in/sign up. These are options, not limitations, to be clear. Most days there are trail leads planned for most of the big ticket trails. For example, there are 8 different trails options scheduled for Monday. I’ll be taking a group to Sidney and Governors Basins. For the full Alpine Loop, it looks like Friday is the only day planned (that I will be leading…weather/fire/God-willing). There is a fire near Lake City that could affect that. So, plenty of options to show up and pick and choose. And there will always be groups going out that form up day of/day before.

I would also comment that @Mesa Woman trail list is an excellent reference/resource. I look at it regularly. Very informative for the inexperienced or less experienced and still a great refresher for anyone. Ask the pilots…they look at a checklist EVERY time before they take off.

Safe travels and happy trails all!!

Brent

When all else fails use common sense 😉
