Psycho bitch for sure, how about rent a D6 and drive over her car?

Enough about that wretch of a woman. Although I do appreciate the advice and thoughts, I really would like some advice on where in the Denver area a good shop is if anyone knows and how much I can expect to pay for a nice job. Not talking showroom finish just something that's gonna last.

you can save a lot of coin if you do the prep work yourself, i.e. sanding and filling the spots you want and just have them mask and spray. If you aren't looking for showroom shine, single stage with clearcoat mixed would be your cheapest option

Some times you just have to move away from negative situations, I have.

Two wrongs don't ever make a right and you feel that pressing for the Felony is too harsh, so you've already answered that question. Fix it and get well from your surgery and move onto the next one. Statistically women out number men 7-1, there's six more out there waiting to become ex's;)

As far as the respray goes. Panels can be painted no need for blends as it is non metalic. From what i can see. But depends how many panels are damaged or have a slight scratch ;) finding a shop in your area go get a couple of quotes have a look at the work they have at the front. Ask what paint they use etc. Im from australia but if you want yo ask about brands that are good bad etc send me a message. Not sure how it is over there but here you get a police report that states she is at blame. Put in an insurance claim insurance claim and away you go insurance then chases her for the money.

Goodluck with it all.

time to post up her naked pics and address for the world to see.

seriously though that really sucks. i would follow some of the good advice on here and make her pay. it's only way to save the next cruiser.

Not knowing the full story as the OP mentioned, it's difficult to second guess what you "should do" regarding the charges. In Florida, the charges are based upon our assessment of cost etc., and filed appropriately with the local state attorney. It's up to them to file since the actual "crime" is against the state. You are just the complaining witness.
Most of the time, if the complainant doesn't wish to follow through, a waiver of prosecution will be accepted by either the on scene officer or the SAO at intake and it's over. OTOH, if law enforcement was on scene and there were other charges as you mentioned, it may be unlikely that they are going to be interested in allowing you to waive the felony on the criminal mischief/vandalism. Guess you'll find out eventually.

One thing to keep in mind. Following through on the criminal side helps ensure that you receive complete and fair compensation. Many states have victims compensation funds or the courts will mandate restitution before releasing the defendant from charges, probation, etc. Helps cover the possible gaps that insurance company my force or try to force on you.

The arrest also ensures that the next guy, assuming he does a little checking first and isn't guided by the small head, will get to see what a psycho-B**ch she was and may decide to waive off on that landing....

Either way, I agree. Move on but make sure that you are properly compensated before you sign off on any of the insurance company agreements. Remember, the insurance company is not necessarily your friend. They are out to get off as cheaply as possible. In some cases, acts of a criminal nature are specifically waived in the policy.

Good luck and better luck with the next one.

Ouch. Its safe to say youre way better off without her in your life.

I wouldn't press charges. Too much of a hassle to go through without knowing if they'll simply dismiss it. If you're up to it, repaint.

Then thank her for the spit-shined, brand new paint job she made you get for your fading 60. That'll make her go crazy (or crazier?)

^^ Assuming she can't get to it again, off course.
