Started the SCC thread early to get max participation; So lets try it again with the Roundup.

Looks like it's scheduled for March 14-17 (TX spring break timeframe). Who's interested in a spot on the trailer?

This event is far far away and, at least for me, will be at least a Wednesday - Sunday, very possibly Tuesday - Monday. (Tuesday and Monday being travel days)

EDIT: Got the dates posted!

Pick me up in Dallas on Wednesday and bring my truck and back to Buford?
Whether or not I'm the one to pick you up or not, we could certainly get you a ride from Dallas pretty easily I bet. And a ride back wouldn't be much harder to find either.

I would be interested in a spot, but don't want to take a spot from someone who doesn't have a trailer. Just let me know.
We'll see how it pans out Sid. Can't wait to get back there! My plan is to take the time between the New Years run and The Roundup and do my triples and driveline tuck. After all, it was K2 that made me want to do it.

Hey Josh, start workin on gettin your dad to go. The trailer will be you, your dad, me and Sid. You and your dad could ride with Sid kinda like we did with Nick for SCC. Could work out great.

Man. I got too much stuff on my plate already next year! Ack!
This will be the only year my trailer will be available most likely. I go back to sea duty at the end of 2013 so I probly won't be at many events at all until 2018 when I go back to shore duty again. And even then you'll only see me if I get stationed back on the east coast. Just FYI.

PS: That being said, I'm thinking of trying to get out to some trails in Colorado, and maybe Moab, for a week or so later next year if anyone is interested in a fast-paced, hard-core, multi-trail, small-group trip. I have a Jeep buddy that started a fab business and is moving out there in January. Said fab shop is called Knuckles Offroad and are slated to start on some FJC custom stuff next year; Again, just FYI.

Trail possibilities: Holy Cross on the southeast side of the Colorado Rockies and 21Rd in Grand Junction. I think there are other trails in the GJ area too.

As much as I like seeing you trash your mini I've already got Feb 22nd-25th, May 13th-18th, and June 16th-22nd blocked off on my calendar. And I haven't even gotten into the second half of the year yet. (And I technically only get 1 week off per year for "vacation")

Haha. Thanks... I think?

Good that you have some things planned; bad that you have so little vacation.

No Rubithon for me; not any time soon anyway. I've talked with a number of guys who have been and it doesn't sound like something that I'd be fully satisfied with. I'm a wheeler through and through; socializing is secondary for me. Rubithon, from what I understand, is 80% social and 20% wheeling. And even the wheeling is scheduled for you. You can't just say "lets go wheel" at any time. I'd go stir crazy. And if I'm driving that far to wheel, I want WHEEL! I'd rather go to Moab for a week than Rubithon. I could wheel 100 miles of trail at Moab in the same time as one Rubicon run. And I hear my rig might be a little overkill for most of Rubicon too. Sorry bud. :meh:

Congrats on the Long's! Your heavy foot has needed those for a long time!

My only big trips as of now are LSLC RoundUp at K2 in March, GSMTR in May, probably SCC again and hopefully the aforementioned Colorado trip at some point when it won't be too hot or cold. Everything else will be little weekend runs that come up as the year progresses and any three day weekends I have I'll be looking for a place to ride.

Yeah it was a compliment. You give your truck hell which is both impressive and very entertaining. And, yes, not having much vacay time really sucks. I wish I could hit 3-4 big trips a year and a bunch of weekend runs. The big trips are very few because of the time off required and the smaller runs are tough because its either really far or I have to work.

Just to let you fine folks out there know, form what has been posted on the LSLC Dallas Forum, the Round-Up is "scheduled" for March 14-17. It usually takes place the same week as Spring Break 'round these parts, maybe the same for ya'll.

Can't wait to see ya'll there.

Thanks for the dates W.L., much appreciated!

You'll see me and Sid out there but I dunno about the rest of the crowd. The whole point of this thread was to gain awareness and promote the event as early as possible in order to give everyone else time to plan for it. So far, no takers. :meh:

Josh, what's your plan? Were you serious? Cause we can likely make that happen, what you mentioned before.

Sounds good W.L. How's the propane conversion coming?

No problem guys, glad I could shed light on the date of the Round Up.

Funny you should ask, work is in progress, I have the tanks and a few parts rounded up, waiting on the rest of the induction system to be shipped. When I got back to Austin, I was speaking with Edwin at LCS, he said let me give "my guy" a call and see about a price.....turns out he was speaking of Randy Kruse that has K2. Told him If I had known that's who his "guy" was, I would have been ordering the set up while I was at SCC...go figure.

I want to go but I cannot say for sure until closer to the event. Hopefully I can talk my dad into coming out with you guys and my truck if I can figure it out with work.
