I'd like to get the motor turned over in the next few weeks and get the cruiser on the road before I leave for Ireland in Sept. (I'll bet there for a couple weeks for work).

How'd this goal work out?

Here's my pathetic update:

Bigablockbaby vrrooomvrooooom :grinpimp:

I want to hear it run damnit

oddly enough the chrome parts were cheaper. $20 valve covers, $8 water neck, $20 for the air cleaner. :)

The headers arent really chrome they are ceramic coated.

Sounds like my wife is giving me this Sat off from honey do's.... so I'll be out there working on it.

Got the crossmemeber pretty much buttoned up. I'll add one more piece of tube under the 205, extend the skid all the way back, and add some of that cutting board stuff to protect the exposed bolts. I want to to get to other parts of this project so I'm moving on for now since its at least good enough for street use.

LT cooked up a nice solution for the 40's mount/armor.. they machined recessed holes into a thick plate on their spanky new CNC. It probably won't matter this winter, but if you plan to run something like Fordyce or Quack Attack it might be something to think about.

Thought I had pics but they appear to be mia. Had them machine in MetalTech4x4.com as well. :D

Nice, maybe I'll get a hold of LT about that.... although the uhmw stuff I have is pretty easy to work with. The plan is just to make to "strips" with recessed holes for the studs/nuts to sit in. That way rocks will just slide over those areas and I dont have to give up much belly clearance.... not to mention the my budget for this thing is drying up pretty quick ( I already have a lot of the uhmw stuff lying around). I'm dreading to see what the cost of my drivelines is going to be.

I got the the propane stuff mounted and most of the engine plumbing done.... I wanted to be more creative but this will work for now:

I got as far as priming the oil pump too.... since there wasnt much room back there I bought a cheapy HF "close quarter" drill to spin the shaft. It gave a good fight for about 3mins and then literally caught on fire. You can see the smoke if you look closely:

So I did what any other good patron of HF would do if you still have your receipt and returned it. This one looked more up to the task:

I zipped tied the trigger on it and it spun for about 20 mins until finally all the rockers were dripping with oil.

still chippin away... I wish I had more time to make this more aesthetically pleasing but I can come back to it later. It'll work for now. The dash gauges are mounted on some stainless I had layin around. I also got my new coilover hoops bent up too.
