Pane is the s*** man, I cant wait to run it on mine!

What is it with you northern states boys!?
Friggin INSANE!

Lookin great man. Itll be nice to have a power plant to move that rig. I know the F motors were bullet proof and all, but...what were they thinking? Totally mis matched power to weight ratio.

This'll do the trick!

on the mounts....

Fantastic work!!! I didn't expect it to happen that fast, lol.

lol... I'm not getting too excited. I'm pulling it again to build it and to "manipulate" the firewall a bit (and by a bit I mean alot) but at least I know its going to work. I also now have to re-do parts of the three link too.

Why do you need to re-do parts of the 3 link? Will the upper link not clear the oil pan anymore?

it clears but their was a few different problems. First was that I HATED how I did the shock hoops and crossover bar. I really just got them in there to "work" and didnt put a lot of imagination into it. The welds also suffered because I was too lazy to pull the motor or pull the sheet metal to get to them. Next problem is where the panhard bar lands now. It may end up into the pan or balancer on a hard touchdown off a dune or something. Third, I want to "outboard" the axle side mounts for the coilovers over the steering knuckles to create more /\ than it had. The coilovers were nearly vertical which increases the efficiency of them but it made it seem like the geometry of the set up made it move strangely.

I'm hoping I dont have to change a lot but some re-working is definitely in order.

oh yeah... I also I have to plan for the exhaust!

What exhaust? You dont need an exhaust.

I think it would be neat to put a different kind of exhaust on, not the typical flowmaster. :meh:

Im not understanding the advantage to propane.
I dont see how it could be beneficial for you in lieu of gas or diesel.
Not that you would, but your availability of fuel drop DRAMATICALLY when in a pinch.

burns cleaner, is consistent with how it runs no matter what, any angle right side up upside down it doesnt matter. extends the life of your oil, doesnt spill in a rollover ect.

Mmmmm pane with turbos yum yum...

I'd thought about converting the 454 to a TBI set up but honestly I REALLY REALLY like the simplicity of propane. Only a few hoses, 1 wire, and some tanks to diagnose if something isnt right. Not that TBI stuff is overly complicated but propane is just that much easier and I HATED the wire mess in the engine bay. Obviously, running a carb isn't really an option with the type of wheelin I intend to do so that ruled out gas.

Diesel would be a great option if this rig ended up of more of a driver but ol' blue here is going to be toy. I'm immature at heart and I really want the satisfaction of being set back in the seat when I romp on the gas... silly I know but its the truth.

In a pinch? I'm not too worried. Propane isn't the easiest to get but it isnt exactly like having to find uranium either. Oregon has plenty of places to fill up and there is a propane place about 15 mins from my local wheelin area. I also intend to trailer her to the trail and I can bring an extra tank in case of emergency... I also ordered a BBQ adapter if a situation should warrant it.

Propane is a compromise but I think its best in my situation. :meh:

hi 454 buddy! Guess I should get mine going one of these days. The truck is sitting on those tan rivet wheels you gave me a while back. Perma ebrake mode :D

TBI is seriously what you should do. Once my swap is in and running I might start thinking about it. Figure it out and then I can do it.
