Fantastic documentation of the history....I'll be sure to go into your discussions as I hope to be able to finally build mine up soon....

Superb write-up! DOR and ROD are two luck young ladies!

Awesome writeup Ken!

I hope my rig comes along as nicely as yours has, kudos. I wish I could have had some time to chat with you at Flat Nasty, but you pretty much left when we got there.

Yeah, we rolled a little before noon so we could be home by 2AM on Sunday and get a few hours of sleep.

   to all and thanks for the kind words

Your rig is still one of my favorites...nice writeup!!

Ever going to have the time to paint the inside of your garage?...:flipoff2:

nice write up Romer. reeally impressive series of changes

slight hi-jack in progress. Having done a lot of research I have reached the same tentative conclusion as you about memory map and topo maps and an ipaq PDA but not having an Ipaq I have been hesitating about taking the multi-stage plunge until i can see one in action. Have you tried the free trial downloads from memory map and ozi explorer to see how you like them both on your ipaq? I would love to hear verification that the PDA screen resolution is enough to be useful in the truck and that memory map does have the edge over ozi explorer on a PDA as the reviews suggest. I seem to recall the utah topo maps are only $50 so, assuming noone can lend you a set, that is all you are gambling if you buy them and then try them with both demos ;)

No I have not tried their (memory-map)download. It's on my to do list. BTW - I selected the Dell X51V over the Ipaq.

3. Can you pull with the Slee rear bumper? What is the weight of max towing?

Ken!

What a nice dad! :) me jealous. haahaa Very nice!

When I was 16, I had to borrow my brother beat up corolla. :)

if i was to buy new I would likely do the same. i'm seriously thinking used though since I would not use it as a PDA just for GPS and memory map says you can use an ipaq a couple of generations back without issues.

please do a review here if you do try the demo. I need to get my research done in in time to put it on my christmas list ;)

All that work and dedication and you still have the factory racks on, what gives?

Ken,
Very nice. What pods did you use for your guages and where did you get them?

Thanks,
Dave

I like the factory roof rack. I have no issues with it. I know others can't wait to take it off. Different strokes for different folks. I have no need for anything better for a roof rack. If I did, I would talk to Alvaro.

It is a 2 pod for an Acura and you have to trim the edges. If I had it to do over again, I would not have trimmed at the grab handle, but molded the plastic with heat like others have done.

There is no official DOT rating for the bumper and reciver. My trailer fully loaded is close to 3000lbs and I tow it over the Mtn passes
