Went on an exploratory run of the wildlife management area about an hour or so from my house. Turns out there are quiet a few awesome trails so will try to round up some of the guys from the local land cruiser club for a trail ride and camp.

That last shot could be your icon. Safe to assume the rears cleared the crest of the gully BEFORE the fronts hit the ground?

it wasn't quiet that dramatic lol the rear came up a little on the passenger side I cant seem to post up the video link. Skid plate definitely did its job!

We don't build these things to baby them... =)

Got that right! I built mine to enjoy and have fun with. Despite what looks like a thrashing, I wouldn't do anything that would compromise its reliability or put it through any paces that I didn't think it could handle. If all goes well im fixing to take it on another 5k or so mile jaunt to see some pretty remote country in april :)

Wow, dude... Nice.

Just finished going through the thread, love the build and the road trips after! I really need to get my rear in gear and get mine done!

thanks!

Roma... that looks like a great place to cruise!! Glad you found it :steer:

Thanks I know me too its not as scenic as the San Juans lol but still fun! Danny if everything goes as planned I'll be in your neck of the woods in a few weeks!

Parts run :) got a full floater with parking brake from a 1983 bj42! looks like I'll finally have an operational parking brake on this thing again since the diesel conversion and 5 speed install.

Hard to tell in the pic, but are all three of those FF with parking brake drums and 3.7's? Are you selling any of them? If so put me on the list. Jealous! Nice score!
They are all 4.11. Two have the parking brake provision (bj42) and the third is from a late model 45 (aussie 4spd) so it doesn't have the parking brake but has the same outer axle mounting ends to accept the late model backing plates from a 60 or 62 with the parking brake provision. One is for my 40 one is going in Tucker's 40 and the third in another cruiser heads 45. Sorry :)

I haven't updated this thread in a while so I figured I would post a quick update. I purchased some new turn signals from Toyota because the aftermarket ones I installed a three years ago were starting to look like crap. I also got some new strikers from Toyota for the ambulance doors mine were apparently quiet worn.
I still haven't touched the full floater for it because I've been busy with another project :)
