Rocker replacement (1 Viewer)

I would brace it. The rockers are a structural component and you're probably going to have to remove more than you think to get to clean metal. There is a body mount location right under the rear seat there so a lot of load transfer in that area. If you don't you will probably end up spending a lot of time trying to get the doors to line up again.

If you don't want to weld your bracing you could probably use end plates on the brace and secure with self tapping bolts. Then you'd just have to plug or weld up the holes.

According to what I saw in the link you posted I could remove the entire rocker and leave it removed with no issue. I do kinda like the built in slider too.

That’s what I’ve seen. One of the guys in Utah (maybe @Box Rocket ?) did the custom rocker replacement slider to his 80 and had a good video at the shop where it was done. But I can’t find it…
