I like a reasonable street tire, but also need to do some off-roading and Cruise-Moabing, and be able to handle the snow and ice we get in Wyoming, too.

I bought the Coopers without really doing a lot of research. They're okay, I guess, but since it's approaching replacement time, I'm thinking I should research a bit more and maybe try another brand. I've heard good things about Nitto tires; my brother runs them on his pickup truck. OTOH, if I get the same tires again, I don't have to buy a new spare, because my existing one has never been on the ground.

Also really liking some of these new sleek front bumpers more than the ARB bulbar that I'm currently running. I'd like to remove it and go with something less bulky. @mcgaskins mentioned the front end turbulence and disturbance - something I had never really thought of before. It has my gears going. I'm either going to move up to a newer LC and start a new build, or make some changes to what I have. makes a certain amount of sense to stick with the truck I have because it runs great, and we know it pretty well.

I'll be mulling over all this; tires and trucks, bumpers and such. Hmmm.

If you are close to purchasing tires and are considering Nittos, simpletire.com just extended their Nitto sale through the end of May, 10% off and free shipping. Maybe a local place will even beat that price?

Thanks for this tip. I'm going to wait a bit, and do some research. My tires are worn, but not critical yet. Definitely need new ones before Cruise Moab 2020!

Can anyone tell me the part number for the clip that holds the third row headrest knob on?

Every part number I search says it's discontinued.
However, that looks exactly like a roll-up window spline/clip provision.
I'd swing by Autozone and see if you can snag one and if it'll work. I have a feeling it will.
They look like this:

I’m thinking tires and spacers. Have read a few threads about tires, rims, & spacers.

Currently: 285/70R17 on RW rims with no spacers

Would like: 295/70R17 on RW rims with 1.25” Spidertrax spacers

Please give me your thoughts.

Are you asking me? That quote format is weird.

I added another 1/2 inch by going back to 1.25” and am very happy with the combo.

Any particular reason you are not sticking with 285/75/17? The 295/70/17 is a bit shorter but little wider that what you have. Will be tricky to not rub while compressing in a turn...

I haven't posted to this thread in a while.

We love our 200. Have done Cruise Moab twice now. It's a fine truck. I'm so amazed that we can pile six of us plus a weeks worth of gear and a bicycle in this thing, drive it for 10 hours at highway speeds, unload the gear, throw off the Yaki box, air down to 16 psi and ride the slick rock like we own it!

Life is good!

I was not specifically asking you, but thanks for your comments and input.

Post 127, I was asking for any input.

Post 128, I was "bookmarking" that thread so I did not have to go search for it later when I wanted it.

You run Spidertrax 1.25" spacers, and it sounds like you've been happy with the results. Noted.

I do not have 75 series tires. Not sure where you got that from. I have 285/70/R17 and am thinking of going to 295/70/R17.

Anyway, thanks for your input. I've watched and read about your truck, and so appreciate your input.

My vision is really screwy, so managed to think it was 285/75/17 on yours. Oops...

Those Cooper STT Pros are really gnarly looking - maybe those would be fun.

Tires can be a very personal experience...

I've got a set of STT Pros on my Tacoma and would not buy them again. They have increased in noise level as they have worn, like most MT tires, but to a greater degree than others, like the KM2 or Dynapro MT, and they do not seem to offer the same level of traction off road.

Because of this, I have not run them consistently on road and and cannot comment on their life expectancy. I routinely got 40-45k from three sets of Dynapro MTs however.

Since I spend more time on pavement than I used to, I'm looking at the Michelin Agilis Cross Climate.

I added 1.25” Spidertrax spacers today. Ordered a set of tires. Gonna go with the same tires I have now; Cooper Discoverer AT3’s but in a larger size.

I’ll post up pics of the truck with the spacers tomorrow.

Then I’ll put up pics of it with the new tires.

I run the Cooper AT3's in LT285/75/17 with the 1.25 spidertrax spacers on rock warriors. I am very happy with the way that they look and handle. The tires are silent on the road and very smooth. Great in rain as well.

I’m planning 295 70 17’s.
How do they differ from the 285 75 17’s?

When I was looking at 35s I spent a lot of time trying out options using this calculator. It’s really good for comparing stock to new, or two different upsized to each other. Include a ability to try out different offsets and calculates scrub radius too.
