I had to address the rusted rocker panels, cut the fenders for the 35’s, and a rattle can paint job on the fenders and hood.

Rich, it looks great. I only hope you cut enough of the firewall out. Every one I have ever done has been even with the body mount and even that I take a bfh to.

I have not tubbed the fender well yet and just trying to get it on the road. It was a lot of work so fender wells is the next on the list to do and just going to run the 33’s for now.

The big 3 upgrade finished and wiring for the winch complete. I used SB quick disconnects, 2 gauge wire, upgraded to the Albright solenoid and upgraded to the 140 amp CS144 alternator.

Rick did the swap from stock solenoids to this Albright go smoothly? Physically does it mount inside the box OK? And I assume you retained the original socket that your hand controller plugs into is that correct? I'd love to do this upgrade on my 40 even though the 8274 on it works fine as is. Thanks for posting up the pictures!!!!
The Albright solenoid installation went pretty smooth and I was able retail the original plug with the single notch. I installed solenoid pack under the hood and you should be able fit it in the original box.

If you need any help let me know.

I can't see if the coilover is removed for the test fit. It looks good though. Was it more work then you thought?

It was definitely a lot of work trying to get the new sheet metal piece to fit cutting and grinding. It was definitely a learning experience welding the fender wells. The only issues is at full lock and compressed suspension the tires rub the body mounts but I have to test it on the trails to see how everything performs.

I finally finished putting together the 4runner with the front bumper and the rebuilt Warn M8000 winch with a HF synthetic rope. Since I mounted the Albright solenoid in the engine bay I had to find a place for winch controller plug so I ended mounting it under the driver side headlight fill plate. Today I test drove the 4runner to my parents place in Sewell, NJ about an hour a way with no issues and next to do a test run on the trails before the classic.

I may be up for a shakedown run in Pines again, maybe this weekend, probably next. My BIL with his stock 4-Runner is looking to get out too, possibly another member here. I’ll do a little checking then maybe put something in trails thread

I was searching the internet for different suspension for my 80 and found out the Keystone Cruiser and my 3rd Gen 4Runner made it on 1stgen offroad site. I sent 1stgen the picture of the Clubs offroad trip and the picture was added to the home page. I have been working with Josh from 1stgen on different spring setups using Dobinson springs on my 4runner. The company specializes in Tundra and Sequoia lifts out of Texas.

The 3rd Gen 4runner went on the first shake down after all the work since the last Coal Mine Classic. The 4runner rocked the trails and performed awesome at AOAA going through the blue and black trails. I had one mishap with the 4runner when Ryan was driving and drove through a tough corner and the truck slid in to a tree and broke the rear quarter panel glass.
