I wanted to post some of the things I have done on my 4Runner for the last couple years. The 4Runner was my first SUV purchased with my wife back in February 2001 that had 39,000 miles. This was our family vehicle that we used for work installing cable TV and Direct TV installation throughout 6 states, camping, fishing, and vacations so the 4Runner has a lot of sentimental value to me and my family.

This was the first mod i made the satoshi Toyota grill to my 4Runner back in 2015 and I have done a couple mods every year.

In 2017 I started to upgrade and replace some old parts which included Ivan Stewart wheels, Tundra brake upgrade, new radiator, 2" lift, headlight Retrofit and TG DIY Rock sliders.

Where did you source all your parts from?
I was collecting parts for the past couple years to do the conversion and found parts from EBay and local sales. The only parts that were not a OEM part were the hubs from Rockauto and the Koyo bearings. So some parts that I found were from out west and a lot of the new OEM parts were purchased online through McGeroge’s Toyota in Virginia. The knuckles were from the junkyard that I cleaned up and powder coated.

What upper control arms are those? What are you running for coil overs?

I am using JBA upper control arms which are manufactured in Souderton, PA which i like to support our local businesses. Then i am running the Bilstein 5100 Tundra struts with the 1st gen Tundra TRD springs.

I found some beat up 5 spoke 1st generation Sequoia wheel hopefully for the 35 after my re-gear to 4.88. I stripped these down to bare metal with aircraft paint stripper, 3 coats of primer, 4 coats of bronze and 4 coats of matt clear.
