The oil pressure sending unit wire had broken off. I was going over last details and found an empty plug between the air cleaner and washer tank. With some help I found that I hadn't installed the sending unit yet.

Hopefully the solder will hold.

Once the 80 is finally running and in the break in stage, I'll pull my 40 back into the barn to finish my military 6.2 diesel swap. I'm planning heavy SS headers and 6.5 turbo with full 3" stainless exhaust.

After fixing a misplaced ground wire I was able to crank the engine to build oil pressure and then got it to fire. It sounds awesome! Super snappy throttle response.

That exhaust work is beautiful. All 304 stainless? Wow. I want to find that scrap bin.

Love me some stainless steel! I'd be curious what it would cost for 316L; that would last

I don't want to know what my exhaust would have cost if I hadn't been able to source scrap materials.

I bought all of it for about $0.55/lb. I made all of my flanges too.

Last year after rebuilding the head and only getting 3000 miles before the bottom end let go the left front brake started going bad, probably from sitting so long prior to the work then. The back side pistons in th caliper froze and wore out the rotor unevenly.

New parts are going in...

The np205 front output gear was a spacer for driving the old rotor off from the hub.

I dropped my kid off to carpool to a CAP event at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo and headed to work to use the welder.

The forward pipe and front of the muffler are welded. I'm pissed because I couldn't get the heat and wire speeds right and kept burning through.

Once the O2 sensor blocks are done and welded on I'll go install it and finish the front brake.

I'm "stuck" in Carlsbad/Oceanside, CA-10 minutes walk from the ocean and all I can think about is getting back to MI to work on the 80, oh and missing my wife too...

There is some really wrong if you don't like being in Carlsbad this time of year compared to being in Grand Rapids. I'm sure your wife isn't missing you either.
