I made it through that trip, a short week back home and then to swampy Florida for a long week, back home for more military stuff and am heading out tonight/tomorrow for my first TDY in 12 years.

I did manage to get the hood on and aligned yesterday, re-installed the shifter console, bolted up the front section of the new exhaust and found that it rubs hard on the frame. I'm pretty pissed. I'd hoped to test drive it today after my packing is done. I still have some PS pump leak to fix, hope its just a fitting i didn't get seated correctly.

Between the first two trips I had emergency car work on my son's/wife's Elantra-right CV, RF wheel bearing, both front rotors and pads. During the second break at home the Mercedes needed rotors and front brakes so I could get to my AF stuff. I won't complain about where I'm going, but would ask for thoughts and prayers for the long flights out and back, and for my family back here at home.

The trip went well enough. I learned a ton!

The last week at home I've been just trying to get my head straight from the 14 hr and day ahead time difference.

I found that the front exhaust tube hit on the frame, so I chose a joint to cut and rotate. My wife crawled under the truck tonight with me to run the sharpie while I held the tuning (nothing sexual) and I'll tack that again tomorrow.

I bought a shallow 1 3/16" socket to torque the crank pulley and used retard strength to pull on a 3' cheater bar with my calibrated arms. I feel ok with it.

I have a double UTA weekend starting tomorrow, but will get back to the truck Sunday after drill. I have a PS box leak to fix... Hopefully it won't be to bad.

My NAPA sourced me a limited warranty PS pump today.

After work I was just sitting down to final weld the front exhaust tube and got a call from a pup customer who had driven across the state and was early.

So the exhaust work will wait. I can do the pump tomorrow.

So I raced home through stupid construction to meet the guy. We have one more to go, and one that chose me to keep. His name is Peenaught (peanut).

I was able to finally burn in all of the remaining welds on my forward exhaust tube. It fits as intended with room for movement.

Gizmo isn't such a good helper yet, but is a very good distraction.

I picked up the drivers seat bottom cover from the upholstery shop and was going to reattach it, but the left bolster foam was pretty broken down. I cut a chunk of foam from a junk seat in the shop and have it ready to glue in.

I also realized that when I cut the electric seat rails off that I disposed of the pivot frames for the up/down and tilt relay rods. They're still in the scrap bin at work...

It's registered. It ran ok, but had a slight miss. After I pulled it out of the barn for the first time and got out I smelled gas.

The #4 injector is leaking... I guess I get to take the top of the intake back off.

I was really hoping to take it to finish the rest of the exhaust and bumper soon. Not happy.
