Man, I am going to send you a project, let me know where to have it dropped off!
ha ha, you're seeing a years worth of photos quick so it seems like I'm super productive. I started on my 40 over 8 months ago and really it was mostly untouched for 7 of that.

Ok, I will bring it to Baggs, WY when I work up there next week, you can take it from there!!

Seriously nice work, the stable looks good!

test fitting the @TRAIL TAILOR frame extenders. They were too big, he was super kind and offered to fix them. There must have been some miscommunication because they came back too small. Decided it was time to learn a new skill, so I asked my bro to help me re-fab it, ha ha. Didn't turn out quite as beautiful as they were new but I didn't want to bother Mr @TRAIL TAILOR again. My bro and I cut, bent, rewelded and cleaned them up. They are a great solution to the winch issue. I would like some wings on there like the original frame, but it turned out nice. More pics later.

I also ended up repainting that lower valance again.

Another test fitting with the Trail Tailor frame extensions after fabrication. They fit great with just enough clearance behind. I planned to create a stout sub-bumper to support the stresses of the winch without damaging the front bumper when using the winch. More on that later.

You know you have a Landcruiser problem when you start buying emblems for models you don't even own yet. I saw these for sale about a year before I owned a 55. They were last of what the company had made, they were in Australia. Maybe someone else makes them now, but then I hadn't seen them before so I grabbed them.

Was rewarding to finally put those on!

Reinstalled the roll bars mainly because the holes were already there. I ended up tapping bolt holes in the center of the front and rear bar, fished wiring down and installed some rigid overhead lights. I'll have to take a pic of those and add them here later.

The receiver-dryer looks odd. I believe it is supposed to be in the engine compartment.

oh really? No idea on that. Looked like it was meant to be there. This one had factory AC and Power Steering. Maybe they moved it because they lost a little room in the engine bay?

The bracket should have 2 bands and the lines do not use hose clamps.

Looks like it sits in front of the radiator though, no? I'll have to take a closer look when I get home and see if it matches up to your diagram. I know several hoses have been replaced and have those non-toyota clamps on them though.

A big thanks to @82FJ40EVV who made and sold me some 3d printed turn signal bases for the 55. I sanded them down and color matched them with an off the shelf rattle can. Pretty sure it was massey furguson grey at the tractor store. They turned out great!

Finally got my seats back from upholstery. I went with Grey vinyl that matched my stock fj40 seats of the same year. I knew i didn't want them to be all vinyl so I ended up going with a scottish plaid kilt material. During a couple of trips to Scotland I stopped at a tweed and plaid shop in Pitlochery. Always thought one of the plaid patterns would look cool on some seats in a vintage restoration. I did have a hard time finding some that coordinated with the colors of the 55, but I like it. It's a little departure from what you normally see in a cruiser, but I'm a departure from the average dude I guess. The cloth is very comfortable.

Tried to match the stock stitch pattern. He took some liberties on the headrests I wouldn't have done, but oh well.
