What a beautifully designed hood.

Mocking up a ARB single compressor mount. I ended up going with this design. Was going to use rivnuts, but ended up sticking my arm through the vent cavity to hold the nuts. I had hardly any room in the engine bay, this seemed like the best spot and easiest to mount. Works great.

After my lift I had a bit of a lean and more body roll than I wanted. Using my pictures from the Cruiser Museum, I had a local fabricator weld up some brackets for the OEM sway bar I was able to source from a used cruiser parts shop. The sway bar helped a lot. I have also added airbags from @SLOCRUISER so I can adjust when I have a load in the back.

Test run with my bros. I think this was 2 days after reassembly.

As luck would have it, the electric fuel pump the PO installed failed on me miles and miles into the wilderness. Luckily we were over the really steep stuff and my bro towed me the rest of the way to the summit and i coasted most of the way home.

Took the seats back out and spent a few weeks trying to figure out how to wire Retro Sounds vintage style deck with an amp, 4 6" speakers and a couple of 6x9s. Turns out all I had to do was not follow their instructions. Sounds awesome. I ended up making a metal bracket that sits beneath the rear cargo panel that the speaker fastens to through the cargo panel. This way the weight of the speaker is on the hidden metal bracket instead of the cardboard or masonite cargo panel.

Finally finished the sub-bumper winch support. Welded up a U shape out of 1/4" steel that bolts to the inside of the Trail Tailor extenders and is welded to the 8274 winch mount. Allows me to have the stock bumper look with the stoutness needed to handle the winch. I love how it turned out. Now back off for paint.

Bumpers finally done. I tried CCOT paint which was supposed to be a factory color but it was super gold. Looked terrible. I wonder if it got mixed incorrectly because I've never seen a gold like that on an old cruiser. But I could be wrong. Anyway, used the same color matched paint to the OEM fj40 Bumper. May not be exact to factory, but I like it.

Recessed Ridgid Lights in the rear bumper are nice to have at night. I actually use them more for when I'm tooling around the tailgate doing something than I do for actually backing up. Also fabricated a d-ring mount in the center of the bumper. There is also a 3/8" plate about 16" long and the height of the rear frame cross member to distribute the weight across the frame rather than right in the center of the hard to find stock bumper. I will likely not use it for a tow point, but I think it looks cool - ha ha. Added that support in case me or one of my kids forgets that its not a great tow point.

Here is a pic of the SMS Headliner door cards during stereo install. They turned out great. I only had one I had to adjust slightly for the door handle to work properly.
