I hit the frame with some rust converter. Just used some brush on stuff I found on amazon for $23 for a quart. I'm still waiting on some clamps and a thermostat but I bolted all the painted parts back on today. I wanted to test fit all the hoses anyways. I also got the skidplate off. Only broke one bolt today taking it off. Still have to drop the fuel hardline which is clogged, I'll get to it tomorrow hopefully.

Hey Dude, Screw the Liquid Wrench. I suggest that right now you get some of that cheap spray can engine cleaner diesel fowl smelling crap that doesn't really clean engine crud that good and spray it on every nut and bolt that you are going to attempt to remove in the future, douse 'em good! It's a miracle in a can...It penetrates. and makes horrifically corroded bolts and nuts removeable....intact. if they break now you can probably just push the pos bolt out as it has deteriorated but no longer frozen rust welded in . Wrench the bolts gently back and forth. Give it minimum overnight to work..

Got it running off a gas can today.
Got all my clamps and thermostat installed. Didn't add coolant to the system yet as I'm gonna take my heater out and flush the core out. I'll end up replacing all the lines anyways and delete the rear heater lines for now.

I did add about a 1/4 of a can to the gallon fuel jug I'm running it off of. One of my best friends uncles actually developed Seafoam so I've been using it for years! Good stuff!

I couldn't let it run long enuf to do its thing because I haven't burped and topped off the coolant system quite yet.
Seafoam it

Love your 40, it really looks good and fixable. Sweet color too. Great find!

I just used what I had on hand and oil will cut oil and buildup faster than a cleaner. I also don't have a ton of cash to burn on this 40. I really need to get back on my wheelin 40 im building for this coming summers fun :)

I should do a build thread in the hardcore section on this one when I get a little farther on it but my no lift, 36" swampers on leafs is no big deal with the high quality of the builds being done in there.

Here is a few photos of that one.
Purist please look away now...
