After taking a drive in the pig into red rock canyon, I made another attempt to get the regulator arms aligned on my new to me spare tailgate window regulator. On the 3rd try I got it and snapped the vice grips back on to hold. Bench tested the motor with a small 12V battery and all good. Noticed that this version has a different style gear than my current one but the plastic gear is in great shape. I believe this means it is an older style. The driving gear has these two half moon metal pieces that hold the plastic gear on the shaft of the driving gear. A pain to align and I prefer the newer style gear.

I believe you can swap the older style drive gear for the newer one and run the newer big gear, ( I think ) and we know where that gets us.
You can.

Thanks for the reply Gary.

I checked all the wires in the tail gate and none have any 12v. I tested the rear key switch with an ohm meter and its working great. With the key in, and turning left or right, it shows good conductivity. So the power is not getting to the rear switch. The dash switch is fine. I have a break in that light blue wire somewhere.

BTW, I finally put that nice brass gear in.
