@FJ6T Are you still printing any more of those decals ?
PM box is full......

Forgive me for crossposting from the 80 world, but I'm wondering if the stickers made by @FJ6T would fit into the windows of 80 switches. They sure look close. The switch lens construction is similar and there's a file of images that people have used, but not produced in vinyl. Thanks!

Hey guys, sorry for the delay. I do have stickers available as of this post. For folks in the US I send them out 2 stickers for 5$ with postage included. I haven't sent any outside of the US yet so I'd have to check on the requirements. PM me if you'd like some.

Is the fog sticker the only one you have or do you have any other styles?

Thanks

Dave

I have fog light, heated seats, air compressor, front/rear lockers, winch, and camera. You can see most of them in an earlier post in this thread.

Sorry man, I should have scanned back. I’ll send you a soon about these. Thanks!

No worries. Here's the pic I was referring to.

As many others on this forum, I went through several impulse purchases of fog light switches for my FJ60 without doing my research. Of course, none of them fit properly and looked as nice as the coveted SOR switch which has become like unobtanium. This is just a quick write up of how I modified a spare rear defrost switch by adding the fog light graphic.

1.) Remove and disassemble the switch. Its important to remove the two light bulbs before attempting to disassemble. My switch was circa 1985 and a bit fragile. Take care when prying on it.

2.) Remove the screen printed defrost logo from the clear plastic insert using nail polish remover. This may etch the plastic a little so I wet sanded mine with 2k grit and used some Nu Finish Scratch Doctor to finish buffing it out.

3.) Apply the vinyl reverse printed graphic. Reassemble.
Dumb question here but how hard do you pry on the back of this switch to get it out. I feel like I’m gonna crush it. I take it the switch slides out the back of the case. Could not find any details on this. Thanks. Jim

Jim,
To remove the whole switch from the AC Bezel? Take the AC bezel off the metal lower dash and you can manipulate it much more easily. This is because you can push from the back, and watch the AC bezel deflection to see if your about to force it.

Hey Dave, I’m good on that step. I was a bit vague on my situation. Was trying to figure out how to take the actual switch apart to get to the lights per the directions above.

It shouldn’t take much force to take the Front Face off. I have an inexpensive set of small hooks from Harbor freight I used to gently pull and alternate sides to try and get it off evenly.

Ok. I may have the decal from Jeremy before I leave for the sas. If so you can show me in Ouray :). It’s all wired up, but i put it on the left side of the wheel. It’s way to competitive on the right side for wire clip space. With all that brittle plastic I did not want to screw it up.

It's way easy. We'll get after it while @ SAS.
