If they're the same height - what is the issue?
Changing them out.
Especially if you’re on a longer trip and want to stay somewhere say for a week.
That’s where air bags shine 😉

I am definitely not opposed to air bags. I run them on my F150.

A trailer with a tongue weight of 400 pounds is a little more than I like to tow in the 80.

I run the Airlift 1000 on mine.

I have OME heavy springs with 2.5" lift. I always have about 800 lb of tools and parts in my truck.
It is my DD and I rarely off road.
I also have a wheelchair lift on the hitch so when we need to carry our son's wheelchair (450 lb) I air up to keep the rear end high enough and to reduce tail wag.

I went to Airlift site, selected the ones I needed (by application) then searched the part number for the best price. I bought them from Summit Racing for about $100.

Not changing in the field, prior to the trip.
Right but I would not be towing the whole time on the trip. For example I might tow to a remote location then set up and do day trips without the trailer from there.
