Just got the word back that has something to do with the pressure plate. He is not sure what it could be. He said it all looked okay from the outside. That’s just where he felt the noise was coming from.
Damn! Going to have to drop the transmition.
Gonna have him do it as I did not have success the first time. Damn a no learning experience!

Augh!
Turns out that I had not used a spacer that captured the input shaft and it had been wobbling.
Put it back together with proper spacer, but first removed the weights off the pressure plate, new throw out bearing, new pressure plate, and the new bearing.
It used to make noise when my foot was off the clutch pedal and now that is gone.

When I was at speed and would remove my foot from the fast pedal there was a clunking sound coming from what seemed like the transfer case. Thoughts were that perhaps the drive line angle was bad. Bought adjustable upper rear control arms to move the rear axle angle. No joy

Now I am waiting on a double cardin to be put on the front of the drive shaft to see if that fixes the noise.

Boy! I just wanna drive this thing. I keep hearing that that last bit takes more time, but come on! I still have other stuff that I need to do and it is just sitting over at the shop ( brought on a pro).

Question-l with a double Cardin the rear axle should be pointed at the transfer case, right?

That's what always had me stumped. If you rake your motor down at @ 3 or 4 degrees, then you technically need to point your rear diff. down the same, in order to stay parallel. I tried a double cardon on the rear and got really bad vibes, went back to reg. u joints and it went away.

That's interesting, the drive shop that built my axle had me bring the truck in so they could line everything up and it's high angle, double cardon and on a 0 degree to the ground rear axle. Was a reputable shop that's been around forever. One more potential challenge to look forward to on mine I guess.

So I had given some of my closest a ride, and, coarse, let the rpm’s go, BUT there was always those ugly sounds!

NOW

Today I gave a mentor a ride and, of coarse, the pedal was the obligatory smash!

It felt good. A bit aggressive, but sooo 20 year old. You know, ‘the salad days’!

**** yeah! Gotta learn how to drive this thing mellow!

Hahahhaahahhaahahhahaa
Crazy
Probably problematic!

Fell off a horse the other day so am rolling pretty slow!

Got under to look at the double cardan. Is there a problem with the shaft being flipped?

Maybe it gives me a bit more clearance.

I have never seen the slip joint towards the rear.
