Sandblast and primer. Gonna bring it back and Lizard Skin the thing. Linex and then put it in the frame and off to paint.

At least that is what I imagine is going to be the process.

Very Psyched!
When are we going to see the pig all sandblasted and looking shiny?

Rain kinda slowed things down. Just finished sandblasting today and should be picking it up on Mon all epoxy primed up!

Just started looking into painting and BOY it is no joke! Expensive!!!

Looks like I might be doing bondo work after all :(

Just a little more that I can say that I did. :)

I have stopped projecting into the future as to when things will be done.

Really stoked right now!

Wow, that looks amazing!

What you all think about Linexing the undercarriage?
My unpopular opinion is neither one of them is very good at protection from rust and that should be your first priority, a good epoxy marine primer and paint as a base coat then if you need a texture finish then linex or lizard skin

You think you need it with lizard skin
Yes, Lizard Skin is soft and won't last underneath. I used Monstaliner (bedliner) over the LS. After all these years the only places where I have chips is in direct line with the tires on the rockers. If I did it over I might consider using the real LineX and have them spray it on. LinX is a lot thicker and probably more resistance to the chipping.

EDIT... I agree with Jim, you need a good primer/sealer type paint first.

You know, I wrote that down a while back and forgot.

So now I have have the primer I have on. :/

So now to go with a marine paint will be the next move, I guess.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Plan was
Floor- LS and then Linex
Undercarriage- Linex

I thought epoxy primer was the good primer, no?
Not everything with "epoxy" in the name is created equal; I would look at industrial coatings or marine. I believe our buddy Rush has some smackdaddy stuff he’s using you might jump over and check out his build.

I would spray it with a reputable brand of epoxy primer or DTM 2K primer (preferably both) before letting it sit with nothing.
Yes, Mac-Man got me on the industrial stuff, and now I wouldn’t have it any other way (especially for a Landcruiser). Super tough single-stage paint at a third to quarter of the price of the auto specific.
