Playing around with some graphics
The first is a fast cut and paste with the OEM wood grain
The second is a quick and dirty version in Blue/black

Actually!!!
I kinda dig that!
However, with keeping in mind this rig is a wheeler, and there are bigger and better mods Id like to do...Its really more effort than I want to do for something thats gonna eventually get smashed in by a rock or a tree.

My decision!!!!!

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!

Nix the woody!
It pains me to say it, but I think you all are right! Its just...well...not right!
I do like the idea of the faux grain in blue...Ill keep that in mind for later down the road if I get bored!
Ive gotta pull the front fender this weekend as there is a NASTY bit of rust that needs patching, and with the sliders on...its not easily accessable. So Ill finish the DS, and then PULL THE WOOD!:doh::D

Im really anxious to get the bumper started!
Ill scan my rough sketch of it later...Looks pretty bitchin, I just hope it works out like I think it will.

Any local sources for spindles for the swing outs?

Thanks for the help and the provocation. Im glad that you all were honest about the WG!

Thanks for following!

Keith

Well...
I donno...Maybe Ill consider the blue grain!
I really FAWKING like that!

How would you go about doing that?
Get some auto paint and kinda brush it on?

Im really considering that after going back and taking a closer look!

Thanks for the pics Dan and the recommendation Mike!

Maybe check with a place that does car wraps?:confused:

Yes, if it was mine I would use real wood oak panels. It would be better than an exo cage.

Mike
You don't need no stinkin exocage!!!!!!

Real Oak with a blue aniline dye stain? I've seen an oak conference table done that way in green very

Im waiting for some bondo to dry, so insted of watching it dry, I thought id come in and post some of the latest pics of the front fender cancer resection.
Took the whole shebang off the rig...that was a surprising amount of work just to do that, but Im glad that I now know how to do it for when I do an engine swap...

Here are the pics...
First is the fender off, next is of the cancer, then the repair shots!

smore of after I cleaned things up a bit. Ive got bondo on it now to make it really purdy.

oops here they are.
Im getting a bit more confident, so the process isnt taking as long as the first bit did...
Plus, knowing how nicely the liner makes the work look, that helps too.
