Long Delay

For those who know this has been a slow build started at a friends garage 70 miles from my home. Life and events have delayed but not yet stopped this build. However it should come along quicker now as I have moved to the shop and can work on the rig more often. But first I found that the shop needed some attention. A dear friend who is in cahoots with on a FJ-62 arranged for me to get a wonderful surprise, and well I have been working on that install, but in the long run it will speed up BT-60' re birth.

He showed up with a 2 post 11,000 lbs lift car lift.

I will forever thank the friendship of this individual and his efforts on my behalf, he is a good egg. :bounce:

Rims and tires.

Have recieved and installed today the Marsh Rims, 17 X 10 Black Steelies with custom backspacing to off set the tires to the outside by a little.

Also recieved and installed today stran internal beadlocks in above rims. Not as hard as it seemed just the nerves of drilling a valve stem hole in new rim gave me doubts.

And the 35 X12 KM2's mounted and installed today as well.

You can see the second hole one is for the beadlock tube, the other for the tire prssure chamber.

Here is a shot of the inner cover for the beadlock tube this can act as a run flat if the chamber is deflated or I forget to air up after the mud or rocks.

And of course the meat of the tail. The KM2's in 35 X12

How much did those bead locks run you? That seems to me to be the best way to have beadlocks on the street.

They are indeed proud of there invention, but when you consider the cost and mod's necessary to run double beadlocks and mods to drive links etc to clearance double bead locks(calipers?) they are competitive. The 17 X 10's were 168.00 plus shipping.
And these have a run flat advantage over regular beadlocks. So take's you path pay's your money. :)

What backspacing did you go with? 3.5 or 4 or what?

Bout time you blew the dust off this thread!

Good to hear from you too, Yeah moved, broke ribs:mad::o loading stuff for the move and haven't been able to get a decent breath of air for 3 weeks or so. But getting started again. With Gsmiter in doubt lost the speed drive for a while. Bet the mountains are beatiful right about now are you still snowed under?

Naw, just a dusting of it once in a while then melts away. Its kinda rough though because we'll have a 70degree day followed up by 35degree day. Spring Fever is in full effect and Spring Turkey starts in 4 days. Sorry to hear about the ribs, that sucks...can't cast it

Its been snowing all day here, it was almost 70 degrees the day before. Cant wait to see BT. Trap I am still trying to get a date set to come your way in summer 2010. How close are you to aspen?

Nice work and nice choice of parts. It should make for a very well rounded vehicle.
