Why do you have to alter the natar?

Sorry, my rig currently has a GM alternator and regulator in. I only been able to collect the stock alternator so far, what Toyota regulator works for a 65 fj40 ?
 
Ok, let me know if you want more, different pics. decal is 25mm high and 64mm long. Silver boarder is 1mm wide
Silver DENSO box is 20mm long and 7.5mm high. TEQ logo is about 8mm in diameter. Skinny silver boxes are 4mm high, 35mm long and 17mm long . "27020" is 5mm tall and "60022" is 8mm tall. Small "ND" logo is 4mm in diameter. "NIPPON DENSO CO.,LTD." is 2mm tall. "JAPAN" is about 1.5mm tall.

Pardon my ignorance; what is that part on the back of the Alternator?
I had no idea what it was either. According to @Coolerman its a very old electrical noise filter cap. Its aftermarket and most likely not functioning any more. I am going to take it off before running the alternator.
