I have been advised to drop a link to this thread from the 40 section here as there are common parts between the 25 and early 40.
https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/782129-re-1964-fj40-soft-top.html
I intend to do a Frame off Restoration and as much as is possible, use genuine Toyota parts.

Chasing part #'s or recommendations on Genuine Toyota or OEM parts for the following:

Brake Master Cylinder
Clutch Master Cylinder
Slave Cylinder
Wheel Bearings
Knuckle overhaul kits.
Tie Rod end kits.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hey Andy...congrats on the new Cruiser! Looks like a decent rig, but, (and I don't want to sound like an arse here) I'm not about to go jumping from thread to thread to follow this, so, my first bit of advice is, to let us know what exactly it is you want to do, and stick to that one thread.

Are you contemplating restoring this '64 back to stock? Or, are you thinking of making mods...i.e., new leafs/lift, bigger tires, engine...etc.?

If you plan on stock, then I would not change out complete panels as you mentioned in that other thread. Your truck looks decent enough, that I would properly patch what is messed up, but NOT change the whole panels...the rest of what is left of your panels is still way better than any reproduction panel you can buy.

Again, pick a thread and stick with it. If a true restoration is what you want, then the 25 section is the section to do it. Also, tell us a little about your self. Sounds odd, but it makes people want to help out a little more if they know more about you, your plans, and why you got this '64

A person comes to the 25-section asking very specifically for part numbers and instead receives a patronizing lecture. That really sucks.

Andybudge, I don't have the numbers you want, but these threads may contain something useful for you, maybe?

There are members here who do own original parts catalogs. Hopefully one of them will help you out. Or even better, you might look online. Parts catalogs do occasionally come up for sale. That way you'd be the source and members would be coming to you for numbers!

You also might search the forums for specific parts. I seem to recall seeing a master parts list thread somewhere on here but I can't find it now.

Mostly though, please look past sanctimonious wannabes who ignore your questions and instead dictate how and where you ought to post on the forum!

The 25 section is the place to be!! My wife said no FJ and several others have been a great help to me with my very slow rebuild. As you move through the process others will chime as well, I'm sure. Both threads in Old Red's reply are great threads. Destins 165+ pages covers everything from tear down to tune up. Well worth the read. Good luck and we like pictures. At least I do.

Just curious...was this intended top draw my attention?

I stand by my post...it is much easier to help/follow someone's build/restoration thread when it is all in one thread, than to keep asking multiple questions in many different threads...at times in many different sections...

Thanks for the prompt replies.
A little bit of a background:
My first experience with a 40 Series landcruiser was when I was 8 years old, my Father picked up a brand new FJ45 from the Dealer here in Perth and my Brother and I rode home (Kalgoorlie) in the Trayback ( with Furniture and many other supplies). It was a cherished memory!
Roll the clock forward to 2010 and I found an identical vehicle in the local classifieds. I think it was meant to be. Sentiment got the better of me and now it sits in pride of place in the Garage. ( see attached photo)
I have put alot of time and money into the FJ45 and am happy with how it turned out.
No extensive panel work required with this one.
I have always loved the classic shape of the early 40 series and when I saw this 1964 Soft top listed, I had to have it.
I have very little experience in regards to body work, so that will be a steep learning curve for me. I have no idea what the original color was and if the panels need replacing or are able to be repaired?
I intend to restore this vehicle in it's original state; i.e. no big wheels, no lift, no performance modifications.
Items that are missing or damaged are Windscreen, left and right Mirror assemblies, Rear tail lights, Tail gate latches(extremely worn), and inner and outer door handles/window winding handles.
Thanks for your interest and hopefully I can stay on the 25's page?

Get some measurements on the tail lights and I will compare them to the earlier 45 series long wheel base pickup. Also contact Dobster, his 45 has the same lights. In a few days I can compare parts between the two. Not many early shorties around in Australia. Much earlier and everything from the cowl was made locally not by Toyota.

Very nice 45 there. Looks like you did a great job restoring it.

Do you know anybody who does work with plastics? Anybody work for Sabic? :)

You are going to need to cast new lenses... These lenses were Aussie specific ... You could pull the part number from the link I posted in the other thread from dobster but I think he had tried already... Pm dobster he may have found something ... I found something that's close from a daihatsu... There are 45 lights that are close... But... They are also rare to find in good shape

No problems here Johnny. I do find this tail lights to be interesting. The lens appears to have a reflector cast into it. Wonder if Australia required a reflector on both sides. Here in the US DOT lets things slide. FJ25s with spare on the weren't require to have a reflector on that side. Don't think Australia let things slip by. You would be the one to find the thread on the other early FJ40 with the small round turn signals mounted to the bottom of the rear crossmember. Was it a 63 or 64. Excuse me if it's already linked. Using my phone so not as easy following all the links.

Hey Andy...cool 45!! :)

I'm no help on the lenses, but I do find it interesting that you have these on your '64. The reason I find it interesting, is that if you check out the pics below...that is "Old Girl's" '64, and it looks like it had the more common round lights, and that someone had to add the extra light to meet code.

Two threads you should really read...and that I love as they are '64 specific restorations...are Destin's and Chris's threads. Two great '64 soft top threads.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj25-owners-group/297786-destins-1964-fj40-fst-restore-thread.html

and

As for the master, and brake kits...I just purchased all my rebuild kits from Kurt this summer...(cruiser outfitters), but have not had the chance to install them yet. If you need the part numbers, let me know. Splangly, and I believe Nuclearlemon, purchased their kits form a guy on eb*y, and it sounds that they were very happy with that they got.

Hope this helps

EDIT: that is an Australian truck below (just in case I missed mentioning that) and here is a cool video of a very nice looking '65 in Japan (I think) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyCZRi0l5-c&feature=player_embedded

I forgot that truck... thanks for posting Dean :)

sooo... 63 was a cheesy light to make code... 64 was a bit more normal looking ... then... 65 they came out with the dual oem Aussie light... i had also seen a 71' with the same lights, it must have stayed till the oem three light?
