Hi- I just picked up a new Piggy for the family trail rig. It is solid white with no other color. Is this stock or a respray? Just curious.

Needs brakes but otherwise super clean. SOA, 35 SS, Saginaw, clean with only rocker rust, 350 Fuel injected, 700 r4. Hope to do front disc this month and gear swap over. Wanted dana 60 but could not find any to buy.

Thanks

Aaron

Any '55 brochure I've ever seen is two tone.

Spend some time crawling around, looking in doors, hoods, you will probably find pieces of truck that will have the original color. As far as I know the only single colored 55 was red and that was pretty rare.

I know photos help but it is not a build thread.

I am just trying to find if 1970 FJ55 were stock in solid white.

On a FJ55 expert section, I thought it would be a easy answer so that I can get a preview of what kind of bondo I will find if a two tone truck was maaco painted solid white.

So far I cannot see any evidence of filler anywhere and also cannot find proof of any two tone paint history. Very weird for it to be a solid color.

Thanks

Aaron

Actually almost all 55's started out white! Then the bottom and top where painted later in there contrasting color. I would look in the fuel door and see if there is any over spray around the filler neck or any other color's in there.

I have had several white 55's but NONE of them where stock!
