Boy that Merlot is good with the Blue Cheese & crackers.......
but Tex, are you sure the motor will fit into a 55? Seems like it might be tight.

Seriously thought about doing that swap with my 76 and my wrecked 93, but (here comes the excuse) don't have the time.
And I like AC and cup holders..

I measured the engine compartments last night when I was jump starting the pig with the 80.
From the firewall to the front side of the radiator is 41" for the 80 and 40" for the pig. The A/C condenser and trans coolers push well into the grill area of the 55. A smaller condenser, maybe from a 55 would be needed to retain it.
That's gourmet poppin' corn and craft microbrew...in case you're wondering...
Gumby, do tell why it is you have a Pig. Have heard you do nothing but b*tch about it. Maybe it's more of an owner problem...your little automatic dome-lite turn off thingy didn't work cause you forgot the 55 didn't have one or what? It must obviously be the vehicles' fault of it's own accord, not due to any specific part or anything.

I'm not speaking of creature comforts, although they are important, as a dd and as a trail rig. The 80 performs better. Bottom line.
The pig looks better. I know I've said it is the ugliest vehicle ever produced and I'll stand by that statement, but it is ugly in a good way. It's ugly in a utilitarian way. I would love to have a 55 on a 80 frame to get the best of both Cruisers.
I'll keep my current pig and I'll wheel the piss out of it as well. And, as long as I can, I'll drive it to the trail head. Not because it makes any sense to. Even my wife has said I should make the 80 a dedicated trail rig and buy another dd'er. There's just something about being the only one on the trail, and the only one most folks on the trail have ever seen.
Oh, well I was just curious. I'm not gonna go around and read every post you make, just seemed that lately you wanna continually put down 55's and praise

We already know what the best LandCruiser ever made is. It's a 55.
Back when the 4-door LandCruiser was the flagship of the Toyota line, not a second-rate Lexus.
