i don't think i have ever ran them before, they came on the truck ... so free is free.
if they die a painful death i have Asan hubs sitting here but i suspect they will stand up to the way i off road.

i am a gentle wheeler.

i was less than impressed with the 12V warn running on 12V
so
i will be setting up for 24V just for the winch and 12V for the rest of the truck. i REALLY want my winch to work 'properly' again.

I decided to sketch this rig up since using the 79 series cab back is going to result in a different look than the NZ unit which uses a 75 cab. The rear door seems pretty small but will be dead easy to splice using factory glass and deleting the quarter light. Here it is with a pop top camper and 34" tires. What do you think?

i comes down to what the rear area is used for, if it is storage then the area is perfect. if it is for seating then it will be tight. for me that area is for the mutts and storage so perfect. build a shelf just a couple inches below the top of the front bench seat. the dogs ride happily on the shelf looking over your shoulder and sleeping (learned this on my last long drive, Cruiser rode up there most of the way just snoring and chasing rabbits in his sleep) underneath you have 2 shelving units facing the doors for easy access to the compartments but yet out of sight of prying eyes.
the longer wheel base will make for a comfy ride although the break over angle and turning radius will suffer. sliders underneath will take care of the break over angle, not much you can do about the turning radius.

yep, i like it.

I don't think it is much shorter. 30-40mm max, I figure.

I overlaid the line drawing on the original and the cab back is very close to the same length.

here is a pic of the original doors on a 77/78
the seating area

Shorter, no question. I think the seat will be slid forward a couple inches and lean back less. It'll still be more back seat room than a JDM 70, 73, 74. but that ain't sayin' much.

"It'll still be more back seat room than a JDM 70, 73, 74."

i was shocked when i saw the (lack of) rear leg room in these trucks. i suspected the Japanese were tiny people but even they would be ... cramped.

for kids your idea would work but for Peter S and I ... well ... no.

how is your cruiser coming along any more pics mate

nothing yet, dealing with Dad's estate, rebuilding a B engine, installing heat into the same truck, installed a replacement 2H and tranny into a one owner 60, just no time.

maybe in a couple weeks i can take time to do so quick bodywork and paint the front clip.

to be honest i am looking at a FJ75 4 door FACTORY pickup i found. very rare and low km. not sure which way this build is going to go.

cheers
<thanks for asking>

i remember you saying something about a factory 4 door 75 before
thats will have some mega cool factor
did they come with a lc shortned tub or flat tray mate

thank you, the truck shoudl be back soon with a 2 color paint job instead of the white...
will post pics when it returns...

HOPEFULLY, i get the truck back this weekend and will take pics.

original (slightly modified) 2 tone paint.
then i can install the roof rack stock bumper.

Do these so called " factory 4 door duel cabs" even though they say/are a 75 series do thet run the run the 77 wagon style floor and half the front body or the true 75 series ute floor mate?

it is a TRUE 4 door 75 / 79 series cab, not a patch job...

i had set them up for a gent in Africa but he dropped the ball. i have all the resources to make them but ... well ... i just don't have the spare cash to play with to make one for myself

Any update pic's yet?

Next time you're wheeling, let me know. I'll come up. Probably no comparison but KZJ78 vs PZJ78 ...

join up here: CA.ON- Upper Canada Land Cruisers
this is the local chapter and a great bunch of guys...say hi at least and introduce yourself.

i have a set of cheaters that i run so any competition would be unfair.
i will post up some pics later today.
cheers
