Alrighty,
So in the last couple days I have ordered everything to convert the front axle to coil springs. After doing some research I determined 80-series parts would likely fit and work but the 70-series coil springs are a smaller diameter and so is the frame mount for the coil springs. I have confirmed the 70 to 80 series radius arms are the same. As a result I have decided to use almost all 70-series parts in the conversion to minimize any clearance issues I may encounter.
Everything is ordered and coming from Toyota, all the frame bracketry, panhard, coil springs, bump stops and more. I will be using some 2nd hand 80-series radius arms. I will scab off mounts from an 80-series housing and weld to my 70 housing.
That's the plan anyways and the conversion will likely start in the next few weeks. At the same time I will be tearing into the rest of the work to prepare this truck for the new owner.

Tearing into the truck.
In my opinion this is very common on ALL models of Land Cruisers. None of this was evident when I bought the truck and also in my opinion this is very minor.
I think these are two of the most common spots to find corrosion on a 70-series. Front body mount in front floor footwell and in the seams of the rear floor support/crossmember.
This spot will take the most work to repair.
This is the other side. I scrapped all the factory seam sealer back to see where the rust stops. It is only just starting to get in this seam to I am going to treat it, seal it up and call it good here.
This is RHS footwell body mount. Old crappy repair I am cutting out and fixing right.
The floor pan joins the firewall here and there is a seam. On top of this the body mount collects dirt and obviously that is bad. This spot I am also cutting out.
Inside rear fenders is good. To prevent future rust in these kind of locations though I am going to seal it all up with POR15.

Inside the doors is also good with no rust.
For seam sealing I am going to give this a try, never used it before.
Oh ya and for those following this build for awhile, the rust repairs and POR15 treatment I am doing for free. That is also the case with the heater. In my opinion the truck should be at a certain level that meets my standards for a sale. So the new owner does have to pay for these things.

So the owner of the truck has approved replacing and rebuilding the rear sliding windows. The 28yr old gaskets are shrinking so we are replacing it all.
The owner has also requested lockers front and rear. I will be ordering up some Harrops and installing them while I do this project.

I have gone much deeper into the dash, going deeper today.
I was happy when I yanked the sliding windows to see no rust in the pinch welds.

The entire inside of the truck got scrubbed down yesterday with Simple Green, three times! Good and clean, ready to start POR15 prep.
