I'd agree more with the $8,000 to $11,000 range.
Looks nice and solid.

It acquired a paint job somewhere along the way.
The hood latches and license plate bracket/lamp and wheels are painted green.
I think the mileage will be a great selling point if it can be documented somehow with service records.

Maybe it's the lighting in the pics but all the paint matches besides the doors and wheels. The original owner painted the wheels for some reason. Maybe it was a 70's thing. I rattle canned the doors s***tily on purpose so they would kind of blend in with the patina on the rest of the vehicle. If you are talking about the front license plate holder - it didn't have one. I added that to the Aussie cattle guard thingy. The original bumper is in storage.

Looks original to me. Mine looked just like it before waxing.

are we sure its a true FST? I'm not an expert but would expect to see an eye-bolt for a door strap at either end of the face of the dash plus the interior darth vader light by the glove box? I can't see in the pics but it should also have the top frame brackets on the interior of the rear corners.
Yes, we are sure. :) I have the eye-bolts in my parts stash with my canvas straps. I had to take them off to put the half-doors on. I remember looking into the darth vader light and I want to say that this model didn't have it. But I'm going off of memory.
As far as the brackets, the original owner converted it to a best-top soft top and he must have removed them at some point. I purchased them years ago from a mudder. Those are extra FST door hinges I bought off of somebody because I was having a hard time locating them for the half doors.

Wow those straps look in amazing condition! Haven't seen much UV in their lives...
As far as I know, they haven't seen any. I bought them off of a former Toyota mechanic on Ebay about 4 years ago. He said he used to collect parts that people would discard. Said some dude bought his 40, took the straps off immediately and tossed them in the trash. The mechanic pulled them out of the garbage, brought them home, threw them in a shoebox and up on a shelf in his garage. He had forgotten he had them and decided to put them up on eBay.

I put them on our 40 when I first got them, just to see what it looked like. 40 wasn't running and was in the garage. After that, I stored them with my "small" spare parts - so I don't think they've ever been in sunlight.

When we first got the 40, I was catching all sorts of crap from my wife because I was buying any part that I thought was hard to get or rare and the 40 wasn't running yet. It was worth it.

The hood hold downs should not be green. That is what's hinting at a possible respray.

Pics of the rear sill under the doors would help validate the rust free statement.

No idea about the hood downs - maybe the dude painted them when he decided to paint the wheels. He used it for hunting so maybe he thought it helped camo it. Don't know.

More pics attached - don't know if this is what you were talking about.

My hood hold downs were painted the same color as my cruiser. Was that not standard?
