I got good info folks:
Cargo windows measure 17" x 37", so you would need a strip ~9 feet long.
Back window measures 18" x 52", so you would need a strip almost 12 feet long (11.66).
Mauldin's Auto, in Gainesville, FL, THE auto glass place in town (352-376-2558), gets it in either 100' rolls or in 12' sections. They had two of the 12-footers in stock and ordered three more. I pick up my three sections tomorrow and am paying $12.60 per strip plus tax. $40.16 total, out the door. I was told the part number they got a succesful hit with was the DWLS466 (domestic window lock strip 466).
Q: with the cargo windows taking a 9mm strip and the back window a 7mm, aren't we gonna need two different part numbers??? Jerry Mauldin said the back window will need a round, flanged locking strip (he's got a 250' roll), not the D-shaped one for the cargo windows. And for the record, the correct window weatherstrip adhesive is urethane-based, not silicone (not even the ammonia-free aqaurium silicone).
I'm not doing my windshield because I have on hand the solid aftermarket one from $OR, which I'll install with Sheila's glass soon enough...
OK, anyone have a good tip on how to black out the door handles (I really hate chrome) without having to go to the expense of powdercoating them? I don't want black paint scratching off and showing chrome peeking through. Sanding them down is an obvious thing, but I've had poor results doing jsut that with the headlight doors and grille. I sanded the every-loving crap out of them, but the Rustoleum Industrial scratches off pretty easily. I just got the self-etching hammered black Rustoleum Industrial paint especially formulated for plastic, but have not tried it yet... Any advice? Considering the smooth black Durabak 18 in a pint for that specific application...
