Drove it to Ouray for SAS10. Brought our son in his 80.
Very high ambients in Colorado today. Couldn’t run the AC, so I got to experience the magic of rolling the rear window down for cabin cooling.
This (330 miles) is the farthest I’ve driven it in a single day. @PabloCruise has driven it further (Moab, so 400 miles.)

Were you overheating when running the AC or was it ineffective because it couldn’t keep up to cool the cabin?

Well, the temptation is to make it go down the road as fast as possible, and that leads to heating while pulling the three passes. No AC helps some, as the radiator doesn’t see the heat gain from the condensor.
But 100+ ambients aren’t much fun.
Zero issues grand junction to ouray.
Just a toasty 106 degrees here in Grand Junction yesterday. Twelfth day in a row 100 degrees or more. I'd say your cooling system is working well.
Longest day in the Frankencruiser (now Bonnie) for us was 600+ miles from the Black Hills Pig Party to home. Credit that to the F150 captains chairs with recline and lumbar adjustment. And overdrive with the SBC 350 and Toyota 4 spd. AC would have been the frosting on the cake. Still. we did 50,000 miles in all western states except WA and OR during our twelve years of ownership.
Jon is upgrading the drivetrain and adding AC on Bonnie for perhaps the ultimate road tripper. Should be miles of smiles.

Yes, the balls, and everything else, were hot.You guys are a good 10 degrees hotter than here, that’s crazy cause it’s hot as balls anyway
Gonna try the reverse tomorrow evening leave Ouray around 5pm, get into GJ around 7, fuel up and then try to get it back to Denver.
It was quite a bit cooler outside when I drove it.

Did get it back, made the whole trip fine, but I was watching the IAT and coolant temp gauges pretty closely. Made a lot of the trip at 70-75 mph without trouble.
Highest coolant temp was 205F at the top of Eisenhower Pass (entering the tunnel) at 47mph in 3rd. About what stock 80 can do, the truck would pull that grade at 70mph if I don’t worry about the temps.
I have a plan to pull the hood and take a trip up to Idaho Springs to see if that helps it keep cool. If so, I’ll consider louvers in the hood.
