There's one licenced dismantler in the City of Burbank. Little shop called Mark's Off Road. Landcruiser only!

:hhmm:

Thanks for the tip. :)

How many people are going to the Cocos tonight? I'm planning on going with my stock grey 88 FJ 62.

I just found your club on this site!!

May as well introduce myself. My name is Sean, 31, living in Santa Clarita, CA. I own a 66 FJ40: 327 SBC, 3" (?) Skyjacker lift (stiff), Orion, SM420, locked in the rear, BFG A/T 33's, and a new red paint job. I met your webmaster, Ross, at a store I co-manage. He suggested I register with your e-mailing list, and to visit some meetings. I may not be able to attend the long-distant meetings, but would attend if local to my area.

I joined the mailing list when he prompted me, and have not spent much time in my e-mail acct. to look into your club much. From what I did read of what you sent, you are very informative, and I would like to met you all, and of course, see all the 40's out there.

Before I can do that, I need to fix my rig:

Transfer case will not engage front axle-still - IH8MUD™ Forums

I am interested in going on some runs, preferrably locally, since top speed is around 65 mph.

Hey spdwaver1,
I live in Valencia as well. pm me if you ever want to do quick local trips. Getting out after work or on weekends is relaxing.

Hey guys, I take mine up to Gorman once in a while, if you guys want to go sometime? I need to get to the next meeting (pregnant wife). Let me know if you guys want to set something up.

I might be open fathers day weekend if you want to do a quick one day run. I'm getting sliders on asap and putting in a new radiator this weekend. PM me anytime you start thinkin about going.

Radiator and trany cooler are installed. :)

Nice rig,

Thanks guys, got to do a trail this weekend at red rock sp with the stock Fj60. Pretty cool lil trail with lots of great views and got to scare my pops, we enjoyed cooling off in the tunnel. Link bellow YouTube - FJ60 Red Rock to Schmidt Tunnel

pm me next time you're doing a run up in North of L.A. I've got an 88 FJ60 working on fitting 35's.

Well did the Miller Jeep Trail this past Sunday and had a break line bust on me, rolled down the trail hit a jeep with my doors and windshield then hit a second with the tail gate stopping me from going off the trail. Will post a picture as soon as I can get one.

Do you know why the breakline went? Do you have extended break lines?

Yeah I had extended break lines but I guess it was not enough, it broke at the front left side right at the caliper. In this link you can see the trip. YouTube - Gorman Lockwood/Miller Jeep Trail. All 3 cruisers suffered on this ride for some reason, the fj60 broken hub and right side birfield, and the fj40 broken birfield also.

Hi there folks, figure now is good a time as any to introduce myself. My name is Joey, wife is Jessi and son is Vinny. We have a 97 LX450 which I am in the middle of doing all my <$1k mods before I do my >$1k mods. We also just got an 83 FJ60 that was a total nightmare but thats another story. The 60 is bone stuck but not for too long.

We have yet to do a real "wheeling" in either vehicle. In the LX I have used it tons of time for the various dirt road and for snow. But that was because both were in between point A and point B. Wheeling was never the goal. But I am slowly starting to change that now that my son is old enough (10.5) to actually be interested in it. So I figure TRAILCREW would be a great start.

If you'll have me, I can venture out for tomorrow's meeting. Just let me know what time!

Joey

Joey, they usually get under way about 730 with the meeting business, but the informal start is around 700 to get a seat at the big table, I am not a regular but will probably be there tomorrow.

Gonna assume we are still having another meeting tonight. Not a whole lot of specific club activity.

My name is Frank (KG6JVE)

I bought an '97 FZJ80 this last May (bought one for my wife last year). I figured out that I really wanted a Land Cruiser just a few months after I leased a Tundra in 2005 and drove the Mojave Road.

So far I've been on trips throughout the Mojave and parts of Death Valley.

I'll attend tonight if I can tear myself away from our kids preparations for their first day back to school tomorrow. Otherwise next month.

Here we are on the 3N17 a few weeks ago:

Pretty nice looking rig Frank. Im in the same kid boat but we've done almost all the prep work already. The wife has a soccer board of directors meeting and I'd rather file my teeth. So off to the meeting I go.

I'm glad I went to the meeting. I enjoyed meeting the group. A few of you helped me reconsider some of the modifications I want to do.

I expect that I will come to the meeting monthly and go on some of the trail runs.
