Hi Guys, this is DB. I've been a thread viewing member for years but haven't ever made it to a meeting; tonight will be a first! I've got a FJ68, owned and sold FJ60s & 40s and purchased my first FJ60 in 1984 right off the dealer lot. I'm scheduled for the Rubicon for the 5th time and have been on 60+ trips to you name it and still enjoying the ride. Looking forward to meeting all and supporting the club more.:)

Hey everyone, Name is Steve, looks like the oldest to post recently, 50 y/o, 3rd generation S.F.V. Native, screen name is one of a number of alter egos, had always been a Flat Fender Fanatic, converted to an FJ40, factory soft top model, the addiction is much worse, have been hardcore and poser, not sure where I will end up with this one but I am thinking it might be wise to meet a few others with the same insanity, would be interested in attending a meeting, wha da ya think? Steve:cool:

Hey Steve! Good to see you on our little forum.:bounce: You should come out and wheel with us BEFORE you start fixing the rocker panel damage from when Tom owned the 40. Get your sea legs so to speak. There's a 3 dayer to the Sierras last weekend of the month, or a 1 dayer in the Big Bear area just on Sat to meet with Forest Service about our club adopting a trail up there. You are welcome at either.

That pretty much covers it all, except for the singing around the campfire!:D WE just updated our calender at the meeting last week, and we've got at least one run of each type you mentioned between now and the end of the year.

You can definitely fill your cameras memory and empty your gas tank on our trip schedule! And we welcome 80s!

Hey Mark, Thanks for remembering who I am! I have been wanting to get to one of the meetings, am going to try for August, also still need to get my carb rebuilt and pickup a non -usa dizzy, it's been wild at work, had to go out of town part of May and June, just got back from 2 weeks in Utah, was able to drive the cruiser once in all that time, its resting in the garage.....waiting....patiently......I would like to get out on a trip or two with you guys, will try for the August meeting. Hello.

My name is Tony. I am old but not as old as Dave.
I have a Toyota or two but don't really like to wheel, I just like Dave.
Not really interested in attending any runs except those with Dave.
Stumbled into your forum looking for Dave.

This is the We Like Dave club, correct??

I tried calling the Friends of Dave hotline but it was disconnected.

I then went to the Dave fanclub website but only found notes about Joe.

I don't want to discuss what was writtem about Joe because I found it offensive and the pictures of... well, never mind what there were of, were offensive.

If this is the We Like Dave club, then I want to join.
Will I receive a membership card with Dave's photo on it?
I want to take my picture with Dave.

I'm Tony, but when I grow up, I want to be Dave!

(I'm sorry, perhaps I should have initiated a new We Like Dave thread.)

lol

The TLCA ? I dont know I got it when I sign on here

WWW.TLCA.ORG (Toyota Land Cruiser Association) has an online membership application. Fill in the boxes and they will issue you a TLCA number once it's processed.

Azusa Canyon has some fun areas. I use to go up there with my parents years ago. It's changed alot since then...but still a crap load of mud!

I just found your club on this site!!

May as well introduce myself. My name is Sean, 31, living in Santa Clarita, CA. I own a 66 FJ40: 327 SBC, 3" (?) Skyjacker lift (stiff), Orion, SM420, locked in the rear, BFG A/T 33's, and a new red paint job. I met your webmaster, Ross, at a store I co-manage. He suggested I register with your e-mailing list, and to visit some meetings. I may not be able to attend the long-distant meetings, but would attend if local to my area.

I joined the mailing list when he prompted me, and have not spent much time in my e-mail acct. to look into your club much. From what I did read of what you sent, you are very informative, and I would like to met you all, and of course, see all the 40's out there.

Before I can do that, I need to fix my rig:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=104830

I am interested in going on some runs, preferrably locally, since top speed is around 65 mph.

Looking for a club

I presently have two FJ-40's. 1976 and a 1973. The body on the 76 is undergoing some rust repair and is off the cruiser. The 73 is a craigslist score. $1500 . I am waiting for Mark to rebuild a 77 2F for it. I am looking for a club to do some 4-wheeling with my 13 year old son. I am a fireman/paramedic here in Los Angeles and a certified CPR and First Aid instructor. Any recommendations on how to outfit my 73? I plan to install a 77 2F w/ 4-speed and 3-speed transfer, other than that its pretty much stock. Looking to build a solid trail ready rig, nothing to outrageous, just reliable. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mac

Hey there,

Rick here, 24yrs old, 2000 LX, stock, out of Long Beach.

One trail so far - don't know the name of it cause I couldn't get a straight answer on the name of the mountain it was on - closest I can come up with is Bald Mtn overlooking Shaver Lake and Camp Edison up near Fresno.

Don't have all the gear in the equipment sticky, but working on it - meantime, would enjoy a meeting or two...

Thnx,

-LX Pilot
