Trail Teams event????

Yeah, it was cool. It was at the Off Road Expo this weekend at the Fairplex in Pomona.

The Toyota Trail Teams was there holding a kind of 4x4 test drive with either an FJ60 or Tacoma. I choose the FJ

I even got to meet Woody

Introduction

My name is Sean, and I live in Santa Clarita. I own the following:

1966 FJ40
-33x12.50x15
-4" Skyjackers
-327
-SM420
-Orion TC
-Winch
-Lockright in rear, stock otherwise
-Some safety gear: Hi-lift Jack, 33" spare, winch, fire extinguisher, army shovel, steel gas can; other stuff that I can't think of...

2005 Sequoia SR5 - Stock 2wd for the :princess:

Last, and very least, 1993 Grand Cherokee - Stock everything, parked "down by the river," or the gutter, anyway.

I really have not had a chance to wheel anywhere out here except Rower (Rowher?) Flats, which is soon to open, so that's where I will be in December. I used to live in Menifee, where my yard was my proving grounds - on 2.75 acres of rocks and dirt.

Ross, your webmaster, used to buy computer parts from me at a computer store I managed that has since closed.

Welcome Sean!

I'm in Santa Clarita as well. pm me anytime you want to wheel it.

"I want to wheel it." I guess that will always be my standard response, but right now I need to get extended soft brake lines since I put on the longer shackles.

By the way, I live in the Canyon Country area, so if you see me, please honk, wave, throw something, etc. Amazing how many Toyota owners (especially FJ Cruiser owners) are clueless as to the "J**p-looking thing" that is driving along side them :hhmm:

I get he feeling that your average FJC owner doesn't have a clue about the vehicle they are driving, much less its lineage.

Its kinda like me waving at LX470 owners. They just look at me and try and figure out why I am waving at them.

Hello, my name is Shahram. I live in the San Fernando Valley (yes, I am a porn star, thank you for asking).

I drive a 1996 Land Cruiser with OEM FR+RR lockers, 3" OME heavies, tall and skinny KM2s, ARB front/Kaymar tyre jockey rear.

I also work in local shipping and messenger, so if you need anything transported within Southern California quickly, PM or email me.

Hope to see you on the trails!

Hey, I'm James, and I'm in La Crescenta less than a mile or two (literally) from where you guys meet. I'm not looking to hit the trails in my rig yet, (combination of no experience, being only a month away from getting my license, and the lack of any of the equipment you guys require for the trucks) but I might be interested enough to pop in and meet some of the guys eventually, if you wouldn't mind.

My Rig: Totally stock 1990 FJ62.

Like I said, don't expect to see me soon, but I'll let you know if I can come down (I go to that Coco's quite often, actually) Hope to meet some of you eventually!

Well feel free to come to the meeting tonight James. We don't require a rig to show up :D

At least come to see what goes on, what is discussed and then check out some of the other rigs there and get some ideas and get some questions answered.

I don't quite live in L.A. County but I am about 5 miles From the L.A. County line. Rosamond. Ca.

The USAF has moved me all over the place. I bought my 1st FJ40 while stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Alaska. It was stock then, but by the time I left Mark W did my spring over, and FJ60 Power Steering. Trailered it to my next assignment at Langley AFB in Hampton Virginia. It wasn't even the same Land Cruiser when I left Virginia. While there I wheeled Tellico, Crozet, Paragon, Katemcy and a couple local trails. I also Bought and sold 4 Land Cruisers while stationed there. Didn't get to wheel any one of them though. Gave the FJ80 to my parents. Now I am stationed at Edwards AFB and still have My 1st FJ40. I am residing in Rosamond, and am blown away that I can just drive off the end of the pavement. No trailer required. So on to the specs on my rig:

1973 FJ40. 1977 2F, H41, Orion, FJ60 rear axle, 4 wheel discs, Aqualu tub, MetalTech frame tied cage, MetalTech fenders, home build bumper/stinger/grille hoop, sliders, lockers, 37" Iroks or Krawlers (red label) depends on the trail.

Looking forward to meeting the Left Coast cruiser nuts out here.
