Got around to making some trellises for the wife. Rough sawn cedar I ran through the thickness planer to 3/4". Then ripped 3/4" strips from the boards. Narrow crown staples and some Titebond III to hold them together:

I’d like some. I’ll send you my address. :D

Well it’s a little higher than I wanted, but I can lower it later. It’s no where near done either, but it’s off the ground at least. Progress!

Nice creativity!
A possible concern- if you have recovery gear in it, are those plastic tabs you have the round bars hooked to going to be enough to secure it on the roof, especially with a hard stop? Or are you planning to strap it down further?

So those are on each side. I could further secure with a strap but one of the things with this is it secures the box AND still allows me to open w/o unstrapping. I kinda tugged on it while standing on the slider and its pretty solid, rocked the whole rig a bit..., so its good, esp for version 1. 😉

Sounds good. And makes sense to me. I'd hate to hear about a design issue leading to a roof-missle.
Good idea. What brand box is it?

Looking all over the farm for a 6" length of 6" pipe that was here when I bought the place 26 years ago...to use as a collar between 2 old propane tanks for my rocket cooker. Couldn't find it but found a stack of 16" plow disks in the granary.

Welding is fun. Grinding not so much.

4 coats of seasoning. Nuff of that.

I'm hungry. Now I just need to source some meat. Descada might be out of the question for the time being.

That's going to be my vise stand

Okay, I’m done for today. The wood burning wasn’t turning out how I wanted so I stripped it. I had to redo the blueing do to newbie error. I went ahead and used the supplied steel shim vs a wood one since I had it. I don’t believe it’s coming apart, but I’ll keep an eye on it. Still need to make a leather sheath, to be done later. I’ll finish it all off with a oil wax and call it good for now. Now to clean up my mess. 🤘🏼 This is a NOS Russian axe from the 80’s. I had planned to do some wood burning on the handle, blue the blade and make a leather sheath.

On the kitchen table??! 😳😳

Props for flip flops though!! 🤘🤘👍
That was just for wood burning and the flip flops are steel toe, so no worries.

Hot tub project part 2:

I had filled it to check for leaks after removing the factory heater, so had to drain it (not fun).
So I installed a new ball valve and drain hose, then with a socket on the side skin so I can hook up a garden hose.
IMG_20200504_193453.jpg

Next I drilled two 2.5" holes in the side for the wood heater and fitted the ports for that. No photos yet.
I then re-skinned the tub, and made several sections easily removable.

As it sits now, it's a cold water tub. Jets and pump work great. Just need a filter and water treatment.

Next up will be sorting out the filter, installing an ozonator, making a ground level deck, making an access panel for the wood stove plumbing, and moving it to the deck, which will be a few months out.
