Nah, Like the Toyota V8 better...

Good work, all Toyota crawlers are cool:smokin:

The 5.7 would have been cool and I know where ones at, but the width of that engine is several inches wider than the 4.7L. Plus, I don't need this to be a hotrod.

Blue haired people don't need a hotrod.

Says the guy who boiled a 40 inch tire (even if it was only one)............

I find it rather humorous, that you guys are poking at Gary and he built an FJ62 with the biggest motor any of us have ever seen in a Cruiser

I was thinkin the same thing:lol:

Man I go away for one day and look what happens. I do think I can get at least 2 wheels to get a respectable burnout though the truck may not deserve it. The bottom line is that the engine swap wasn't necessarily for power, but to neaten up the whole pickup package. I have always said that my trucks are a pretty cool idea, but take me lots of do overs to get where I really want them to be. My 62 took me several years to perfect....after it was finished. Now I have a real pickup...all Toyota still..and........ still has some cool to it, in a hot rod sort of way.

Trying not to beat a dead horse Gary, are the numbers pretty comparable per litre to horsepower and torque?

4.7 toy at 245HP compare to 5.7 at?

I personally like the toyota engines engineering and compactness, reminds me of the Yahnmar compared to the cummins marine diesel. The Yahnmar per litre outdoes the cummins by a long shot.

Ahh shucks.....you know what we're up to. Who but Gary could pull off a sano 5.7 swap and who else but his friends can push him into it? :grinpimp:

Ya maybe with two quarts of Crisco and a neutral drop! ;p:meh:

Did I miss it ... are you bringin it to Round up

i guess i watch too many youtube videos..

YouTube - 5.9 liter grand cherokee does a 4wd burnout

one less liter and Alot Bigger Tires, but i thought it would be a cool PowerPlay Video.
Looks like they may have put down some oil under the tires too

This is a very cool rig, even better now with a V8. Cost wise, it makes since to put all chevy parts into a truck, but you have build a sick rig keeping it all toyota.. Best Part of this thread is the Before photo!
