Those little compressors make a bunch of heat, in a tight compartment like that a small 12v fan like the ones used in PCs, blowing on it would increase it's life.

The back of the cab as shown will be left open so heat should not be an issue.
As far as wiring goes, I am going to use a pressure switch to cycle the compressor on/off with a healthy relay. I plan on adding a small 3 gallon tank as well.

If you would have only had that body there on Saturday! Chef and I would have pulled an allnighter with ya!..
Looking good Gary! And the seats we nabbed fit chef's 45.. He was apparently making Vroom vroom noises in his cab Sunday! Thanks for the hookup!

Amazing work! Count me in with the other guys looking forward to seeing it at CM06 :)

I went through your thread this morning(wife over should saying get kids to school) and could not find anything on the T-Case, I thought some how you made it a manual shift from electric, or was it full time to part time???

Rob

Doubler on the back is air actuated(I think).. Other than that all stock 80 series. Same doubler Christo runs in the shortbus. It goes on the tailshaft of the tranny at back of tcase.

I guess I was fooling myself on being able to get this put together quick. I have gotten a lot done, but not as fast as I thought.
Progress report:
AC is finished including all lines and wiring, truck wiring harness is installed, mounted all relays and fuse boxes, Bed is installed, tail lights are installed, although now looking at them I would opt for factory 45 tail light assemblies(next time), Fuel tank and radiator are installed in bed, and the steering shafts were cut and installed.

Glorious, just damn cool.

Will you have a second panel that you put in when going deep so the underside of your fan doesn't get all blocked up with mud, or water?

If I send you an old web cam, will you mount it on your work bench and just point it at the truck so I can stare at it 24/7? Seeing 10 pics a month is just cruel.

Seriously.

Exceptional work.

Thats funny stuff there. The fan is pulling air down from the top and it is screened below. I am not sure how I am going to do it, but I am thinking of ducting the air out the back. It will be one of the last things to do because I am not a mud/water guy. The fan is at least 48" off the ground anyway.

Are you going to design a rack or something to go over the tank and radiator in the bed so it will be usable? (Even to be able to put stuff on top of a mesh rack or somethign similar?)

I was just wondering about that. I had images of the dust at Roundup and your truck having its own dust production going on because of the downdraft off the radiator. You'll be driving around in your own little cloud of filth like "pigpen" on Peanuts!

Dust or not, That thing is so cool looking.
