Thanks guys. Still so much left to do that sometimes it's a little overwhelming but I'm chipping away.

Been spending a lot of time under the hood the last few weeks hooking things back up. 4WD, clutch and brake lines/booster. Trying to clean it up as I go. Discovered more than a few things that the body shop threw out but I guess that's to be expected. After all they had their hands full just trying to get the body complete. I went to install the gas filler neck and found there's a steel plate bridging the body panel to the floor which had been damaged previously. Still figuring out the best way to fix that. Lots of little surprises along the way but still enjoying the journey.

Wow that engine bay looks beautiful.

Did you have your air filter housing and miscellaneous parts powder coated? Did you use gloss or semi gloss?

Thanks Mark. Yes, air filter housing and valve cover in gloss black. Everything else I've painted myself.

Hey guys, I've taken a short break from the LV and have been putting a lot of attention into my FJ60 (introduced on this thread back on page 24 - post #472 Dec. 2009). In the last month I have bought and installed 4Plus front and rear classic bumpers, a Smittybilt XRC10 winch (same one that's going on this LV thanks to Eric Goebeler and family), Australian door cards, Tuffy console, 5 Milestar Patagonia 34 x 10/15 MTs, and some small parts like emblems and wiper covers. I've also ordered the Heavy Plus OME suspension from Cruiser Outfitters but due to some out of stock pieces that's still out 6 weeks. Once that's installed it's going up to Georg for a Long Range tank and a H55. My 60 has been my main desert wheeler for the last 13 years. Boat loads of room and crawls over everything. Getting it ready to take it back out in a few weeks.

I've been back to working on the LV again for the last few weeks. Back in the day I used to sleep on top of the my old LV when camping in the desert but over the last decade I've been sleeping inside my FJ60 and I love it. So I decided I'm gonna do the same with the LV and go without the back seat. To get a flat bed I framed in the section from the rear of the front seat to the rear axle hump, and from the hump to the tailgate. My kids are grown and out of the house and honestly the only time I used the backseat was to haul them around town. I adjusted the front seat as far back as it would go and end up with a completely flat 6'3" bed. You never know exactly how these thing are gonna turn out and this might not be for everyone but I like it. Wood, carpet and 8 pound pad came out to $190. When I have the upholstery done I'm going to have them sew a lighter brown trim around the outer edge of the top carpet.

Putting carpet in the front and making a pattern for a firewall skirt and sending the front seat, door panels, pattern and carpet to the upholsterer.

Thanks to you both. I'm not gonna lie, it was 100% pure fun!

That front footwell should be a split storage compartment. Take it apart and redo it!😛

Great minds think alike. 😁
