Piddled a bit on Patina while my hands dried out and the Goat dried.

When I stripped the EAF gear off the 100 and put it on the 60, this stuff was just laying around so I added it to the Con Ferr on Patina.

Safety orange Maxtrax on a stockish '68 FJ40 is how you lose your #EAF card.

The winch does not work. Laugh it up. They stay. They work.

Did a boiled linseed oil rundown on Patina today. This was preceded by a CLR scrub a few weeks ago.

I’m really happy with how it brought out the color. @Bodean will be happy to know this does a good job of preserving metal without paint and without the permanace of clear coat.

Still waiting on my seats and since the seats will look good I needed to cover the cracked dash. Picked up a cap from @Cruiser Corps

I bought a horse mat from tractor supply to make bed/body mounts for my fj-45 and had a big sheet left so I made a bed mat out of it

I’ve had a drip on the rear pinion of Patina. I put a new seal in a few weeks ago and I’m still dripping.

I ordered a speedi-sleeve and it went on today.

Easy enough. Pull the driveshaft, pull the flange off. Press on sleeve. Peel collar off.

All this takes about 45 minutes. I’m
An old pro.

Went to back it off the ramps and it locked up.

Looked under there and the pinion was all jacked up.

Pulled the shaft and the pinion castle nut and broken cotter pin landed on the ground. Threads were smooth.

Not at all sure what happened but I’m guessing I didn’t get the pinion all the way back out and seated in the race.

Pulled the rear cover and managed to get the pinion unstuck and there was no gear/pinion damage but the pinion bearing retainer was bent up.

So it all had to come out.

What a bunch of crap.
