Hi guys just wanted to start a thread of the Build up of the 1977 FJ40 my family just bought. Its all in pieces right now. I am in the process of cleaning the Trans, transfer case, and bellhousing.

Way back in the late 80's early 90's, my ride was a 1974 Volvo 144. Top 5 of greatest vehicles I have owned, I learned so much. How to deal with break downs, adults and the real world. I can only imagine how much trouble I could have gotten into with a 40. Learn everything you can, especially how great these old rigs are in todays world.

Yes Gary is helping me... Actually he is my Uncle soo. I'll try to keep this updated as much as possible. I want to make it a daily driver that I can occasionally take off-road. Thinking navy blue maybe... I'll keep the pictures coming when I get them

one thing about 40s, they're an investment in more ways than one ... your efforts will be rewarded in a number of ways, i.e. most notably driving it and taking pride in what you've accomplished ... good luck and be patient ...

Hey a question to anyone who sees this. Does anyone know of any nice not super expensive bucket seats??? Looking to get new ones maybe with five point harness but that's not necessary. Helps me out guys!
try Jc Whitney and summit racing for seats. junkyards are always a great place to look too, got a nice set of bucket seats for $75 at my local u pull it.

Well we took off most of the parts to get cleaned. It might be there. Couldnt get the number until the weekend its up at my uncles sorry
