Looks great manI've knocked out a few more issues in the last couple of months and added some nice to haves as well:
- Bought a set of Aqualu doors and had them painted to match the rest of the rig, or at least as close as possible. Just wrapped up getting the door stops and some new door hinge mounted mirrors installed.
- New TRE's and a quick home alignment.
- Fixed a huge exhaust leak which has so far eliminated the popping and backfiring on deceleration
- Fixed pesky heater core leak that ended up being dry/rotten seals in my ORB to AN fitting adapters. Replaced the heater hoses as well to be safe
View attachment 3769273View attachment 3769274View attachment 3769275Working now to correct the following
- Wheel width is too wide and wheel weights hit the TRE's and are tearing the boots. Looking to get the City Racer 16" w/hubcaps
- Saginaw box is really tight and driving the 40 on the freeway is requires a ton of concentration, even at 55-60mph. Need to find a 3 bolt saginaw box with 16:1 ratio I think
- Still need to address the ghetto ass rollbar and get some sliders made as well.
Thanks! If I ever get my 100series sold I can tackle some more projects
Honestly not sure as I'm not very versed in them. Been trying to read up before I purchase a OME liftAre you planning to remove the shackle reversal?

Generally speaking, the SUA shackle reversal lifts the front 1.5”. Yours may vary.Honestly not sure as I'm not very versed in them. Been trying to read up before I purchase a OME lift
Thanks for the reply! Do you think it's possible to close the gap that I have above? I think I have 4in of lift was hoping to get closer to stock with the new 32" tires
How much are you willing to do/have done? The shackle reversal is an automatic 1.5” lift. This is gained by means of lowering the spring eye on the leading end of the frame. To correct the lift, you would need to return to the stock orientation shackle out front and fixed spring eye behind the axle. I’m guessing here, but I think you’ll need new spring hangers & shackle eyelets (RuffStuff) mounted to the frame. Bolt or weld on. Additionally the current S/R will need to be removed- bolts or welds? This just gives you an idea of what might be necessary to go to a no lift situation. Thanks for the reply! The other way to level the truck, but keep the S/R, is to put a 1.5 lift out back. Springs or an extended shackles could accomplish this. (Don’t quote me on this, but I thought OME made a small lift spring.) Quality springs aren’t cheap, but extended shackles are pretty reasonable. You’d then want stock height front springs. Would this satisfying what you are looking for- hard for me to say.
Are you aiming for a stock look? Or you looking for better quality handling? In my opinion, the S/R can give great handling characteristics, but is definitely a departure from the stock form.
called my local discount tire and asked if I could return them and go to a 255/85/16 and they refused to mount that size tire on a 6" wide wheel. I was pretty surprised by that since so many people run that combo here. So it looks like I am stuck with this combo unless I unload the wheels and tires.
I figured as much. I definitely have a few of those in my area, but I liked the idea of being able to stop anywhere if I needed to. I had wheel adapters/spaces on my 100 series and got burned a few times by shops that wouldn't touch them. I'll have to figure out what my next move isCorporate-mandated liability avoidance.Go to a one-off mom and pop tire shop.
