From a person who has experience in paint, this looks like a pro job.
Well done m8!

I still have about a 1/4 of a gallon left which I'll keep on hand for any future touch ups if needed. They also sell this stuff by the quart at Autozone next to the gallon kit.

You should remove your factory roof rack and use some to fill in the holes up top. Not all of the strips, just the 4 main mounting pads.

That looks awesome.

looks "tight" (as my 15 year old nephew would say.)

When are you gunna cut the fenders? or is a huge lift in the plans?

Doesn't it start curing as soon as it is exposed to air? In the future you'll have a big solid ball of rubber in the bottom of a gallon can.

Like the look though!

Gotta get me one of those Lexus Trail Team stickers too!

Ehh, if it does go bad, I'll just pick up a quart if needed.

Cody -

Did you by chance rough up the paint prior to the application or did you just apply it directly over the painted (waxed) surface?

The kit comes with a green scuff pad like you would use in the kitchen sink.

I just made a bunch of swirls on the paint where I was going to apply the Herculiner. I didn't thin anything out. I just poured the Herculiner liquid into a paint pan, then rolled and brushed it on.

Shouldnt' have to thin it out if you're rolling / brushing. Can be helpfull if you're spraying it, or you want to get a longer pot time. I did durabak on my 40 (better product than like duplicolors, haven't used herc. yet), and I sprayed first, then did a re-coat later when I did the top and rear doors with a brush, and I don't think I'll ever spray again.

So I noticed that Durabak has gray like I think I want but they also have smooth liner, has anyone used the smooth yet? They also offer the regular gritty liner in UV or Non UV. What is everyone using, UV or Non UV?

I have the UV Durabak. I purchased brown and it ended up not matching so I mixed it with black hurculiner until it was the proper brown I needed. Bought a $7 mixer from wlamrt just for the mixing...

I understood the xylene to be a cleaning agent, not a thinner. Atleast that's how I used it.... taped off area, sanded the area, applied xylene, applied 2 coats of durabak.

can be used as either, needs to be used as cleaner, can be used as thinner.

I used UV - which for any exterior surface I would use

My color was pretty close to the sample they sent me.

where can i get that metal tape?

No Herculiner love for the rear gate?

Does Autozone have any tire shine left, or did you clean them out? That's a whole lotta shiny tire rubber!
