Jack is the MAN!
He is one of the few people whose opinion that I trust implicitly on this stuff.
He'll keep you on the right track for sure and keep your feet on the ground.
He's done that for me a NUMBER of times!
However...he will also help you spend your money too just like the rest of us!

I was going to say that :D

That's why I go to him for advice! Hopefully I will be able to change to DiscoveredLC soon cause I have a PENDING SALE!! For my asking price too!

Hot Damn! That was fast. Getting your asking price, that is just gravy. Hopefully it goes through. Good luck with that and even better luck for finding a cruiser worthy of your ownership. My endorsement is a Lexus :grinpimp:

HOLY CRAP!!!
Good luck man! That'd be awesome if you had that outta the way that fast!

Well I hope he goes through with it. I haven't heard from him today on the status of his loan. His wife is trying to work things out since he's a Marine stationed over seas.

You won't be sorry. The 80 will ride a lot like your Disco (Plush), but with a little more solid feel to it. I'm not bashing the Rover, God knows I wanted to love mine, but in the end I sold it before I ever even registered it. By solid feel, I mean the little things like the doors shutting and stuff.

The 60 and the 100 won't give you the same ride quality as the 80 or Disco. With 10k as your budget the skies your limit right now. I can't wait to see what you end up with.

Its funny you say that, Jereme. The door handles and other little things getting old a wore out on the truck are part of the reason why I want to move on. Its annoying when a window or power lock works when it feels like it!

Jacks truck was way smoother than my disco when we test drove them. I just wish I could get some sleep though, my nerves are keeping me awake hoping one of these buyers comes through.

HAHAHA! The anticipation of the possibilities.
I get that way when Im building on the rig. Its pretty much a chronic state right now.

Cant wait to hear!

Chronic...yah that's you alright :flipoff2: Come to think of it we all...:D

Haha, I'm sure ill be the same if I can get my hands on one too.

Its getting frustrating with this first buyer because all I can do is talk through emails since he's in japan. He's talking about possibly shipping the truck, holding it till mid JULY until he gets back (in the marine corp). All of which things I told him I will NOT do. I told him that his wife can come up here from california, but I'm not making a deal without meeting in person.

I received a PM last night from a guy in vegas saying "If the deal falls through I will take the truck. I live in vegas and I can drive up there in a few hours to pick it up.". I don't want to be a jerk, but I'm considering just going with this guy if he can take it.

What do you guys think?

Hmm, I would give the first buyer a chance to get up there, but ultimately, he/she who shows up with the cash first takes it. At least that's what I think, but then again, it's 730am and I am not yet fully awake and functional yet

Id tell BOTH of em like Thumper said...
First with cash takes it.
In this market you cant afford to wait. Give em both a heads up and see who show first.

That is fair IMO. It not like you know either of them personally. If it were a friedn or club member...thats kinda different.

GIT IT MO FO!

Well...my opinion: The darn thing is listed for sale. The first one that shows the mean green is the person that takes it home: Period. I can't tell you how many people have backed out of a verbal deal. Money talks, bull**** walks.

Moving money around is fast and simple today. So excuses for me aren't tolerated. Hard nosed? Yup...buyers have taught me well

I'm waiting for a check right now from the original buyer. Once the funds go through and I have the money a carrier will be taking the truck to california. So hopefully I can start looking within the next week or two!

Well that's good news (again)! There are quite a few '96 and '97s out there for sale right now. Having said that there's a bunch of flaky owners and/or dealers that are challenging, to say the least, to get info out of.

RAD!
Im on pins and needles with this, so could you hurry it up!?:flipoff2:

Hope the cash all goes through and its not a scam. That would really BLOW!

:steer:

he sounds pretty legit. Hes been on expo for some time now, and actually has been following my build thread. He even mentioned how "bad a$$" my half rack was from pictures i posted on offroadfabnet.com

He said hes been a Rover guy since he was able to drive. I think he'll enjoy the truck.

thats what scares me Dan, buying an 80 that needs work and not being able to do it or afford it cause i was lied to....
My dad's been asking me why i'm selling my old truck for another old truck too.

I just want a reliable rig for once in my life....
